The Bottom Line Sequels, prequels, and now midquels?? Where will it end?
Sequels have been around almost as long as movies have been profitable. Star Wars The Phantom Menace started a fad of prequels. Now with the new Superman movie on the horizon we may be seeing some midquels coming out. What did happen to Indiana Jones between finding the Arc and going to the Temple of Doom? Maybe there’s a 1.5 in there somewhere. Maybe Spider-Man really fought someone between Green Goblin and Doc Ock. Superman evidently had some issues between battling General Zod and facing off against Richard Pryor’s supercomputer if the rumors of the new movie hold any truth. So, in honor of the final and best Star Wars prequel and the oncoming new idea of the midquel, I offer up the Let’s Do It Again! write-off. Here are the rules. Write about sequels and prequels (heck, even midquels if there are any out there besides Superman 2.5), and tell us if they are worthy or not. That could get boring if everyone wrote about Revenge of the Sith or Spider-Man 2, so we’ll get a little variety going here. Let’s say the movie has to have less than 10 VH existing reviews (I won’t be strict on that, but it gives you the idea), and each movie only gets one listing on the write-off page. Use some variation of the write-off title and link to this page in the review. Post a message here so I can be made aware of your involvement.
