Re: Tariff? (Reply to this comment)

Hi Margaret,
Casa Palermitano cost us about $50 per night, taking into account the exchange rate and a 10% discount we got for staying longer than one week. The B&B is located at the southeastern corner of Palermo Viejo, about a half block from Avenida Cordoba, kind of at the junction of the Palermo Viejo, Almagro, and Recoleta barrios.
It was about a 15 minute walk from Casa Palermitano to the center of Palermo Viejo, and would be another 10-15 through some kind of sketchy streets near the railroad tracks to get to Palermo Hollywood.
Although the immediate neighborhood around Casa Palermitano is not as relentlessly hip as in the center of Palermo, we found several good restaurants within a few blocks, as well as all the other amenities I mentioned in my review. Plus, it was nice to stay in a mostly non-touristy neighborhood - it supported the daydream illusion that we were "locals", if only for a couple of weeks.
We thoroughly enjoyed Buenos Aires too, and would love to get back there some time. Only problem is, there are SO many places on our list...

How much did all this wonderfulness cost? And which Palermo was it in - Viejo or Hollywood?
Margaret, thinking fond thoughts of BA and wondering if she'll ever get back there

I loved your travel blog and if I should ever haul my a$$ one day to Buenos Aires, I'll keep this B&B in mind.
There are just too many places I'm dying to visit. I need to make more money and retire early.
