The Bottom Line Everything in moderation. Usually.
1. What beers/wines/spirits do you currently have in your fridge or cooler, in your cellar, or on your shelf? Sam Adams, Bacardi Vanilla Rum, Canadian Club, Captain Morgan, Jose Quervo Gold, Glenlevet, Glenfiddich, Bombay Sapphire gin, Elijah Craig bourbon and a several bottles of various pinot wines, and Zima XXX. 2. What b/w/s is widely purchased that you simply cannot understand? Wine coolers. I feel sorry for people that ordinarily do not drink trying to cut loose by downing a bottle of B & J. Youre not fooling anyone people. Just stick with your tea and soda and be real with me while I have my b/w/s. I cant determine if wine coolers are supposed to be very cheap wine or soda pop with a kick. 3. What is your favorite food accompaniment? My favorite Sam Adams beer accompaniment is a steak. With wine I like chicken, pork and all kinds of cheese. 4. To which music to you prefer to drink? It varies depending on the venue and the mood. I can go with classic rock / 80s rock or the soundtrack to Sleepless in Seattle or Diana Krall. 5. Ever do anything (anyone) you regret after a "tough night" at the cups? Care to elaborate? After a long romantic evening and a handful of Canadian Club & Seven Ups (CC & 7) I was persuaded to try anal sex. I had always vigorously resisted trying it, but I was open to suggestion and feeling mentally weak while also quite aroused. Fortunately we took it slow and I was eventually able to take it all. I was on my knees with my rear in the air for about 20 minutes. Mentally, I didnt regret it, as it was something I was always curious about, but my rear ached for days afterward. 6. Do you overindulge? Rarely. At my weight I usually get sleepy and crash after a couple drinks. I know Im not passing out because the room isnt spinning I just get sleepy. Maybe I need to drink during the day. 7. Describe your personality before and after and evening of imbibing. I am pretty even keeled. I do tend to loosen up after a couple of drinks, right before I fall asleep. 8. What is your favorite watering-hole? Where is it located? On vacation, I like to drink al fresco and people watch. The Pink Pony restaurant in Mackinac Is. has a lovely outdoor but shaded view of the marina and lake. Basically I like any bar with a view of the ocean. 9. Who is the person with whom you most enjoy drinking? My husband, and my youngest brother and my girlfriends. Most people let their guard down, at least a little, when drinking. You can really get to know someone if you ask the right questions. 10. From what region of the world does your favorite drink hail? My local grocery store. OK, I assume Sam Adams Boston Lager is from the Boston area. True? 11. Ever solve the worlds problems while under the influence? If so, what are the answers? Not the worlds, but Ive solved several of my friends problems. The answer is CC. No, not Canadian Club, its Communication and Compromise. Always. 12. Why do members of the opposite sex seem prettier/more handsome after a few? I dunno. Ever done a belly shot? Once a girlfriend cut in line in front of my husband to take in a shot off my belly. I dont who was more shocked, me or him, but I think we both liked it equally. He bought two more .one for my belly and one for hers. It was late summer and we had killer tans going. The liquor glistened down our bellies in the light like lighting in the sky. 13. When drinking alone (cmon, admit it), what are your most common ruminations? I think about where Ive been and where Im headed. 14. There is a movement to abolish natural cork from the necks of even the most prestigious brews/wines/spirits in favor of synthetic stoppers and heavens even screw-on caps. Your thoughts? What will people put in their trivet holes? 15. When did you have your first drink and what were the circumstances? I was 16. My older brother offered and I took a few sips of some low brow beer. I hated it. Never drank again until college. 16. Gin - delicious or repugnant? Its an acquired taste. Just like beer and scotch. I love a Bombay Sapphire martini, but they knock me on my butt. 17. Ever blackout or become violently ill as a result of an evening of imbibing? Learn your lesson? I dont often get a hangover, simply because I tend to fall asleep before I can drink enough to cause really bad side effects. I once drank way too much beer in college, with my brother and a friend. We had stewed tomatoes for dinner. I looked like I was hurling up ketchup, then I had a massive headache the next day. Not a fun time. 18. You're an 82 year old Eskimo. You've just been put on an ice floe and pushed out to sea. You were given the opportunity to pack a cooler with one bottle of beer, one bottle of wine, and one bottle of spirits for your final voyage. What did you bring? Sam Adams Boston Lager / a pino of some kind / maybe a nice smooth tequila. 19. What is your best friend's drink of choice? Can you dig it? My best friends are into wine, but no particular kind. We often share a bottle and end up talking about our husbands and our kids and our fantasies and each other. 20. Are you more of a celebratory drinker or a melancholy drinker? Celebratory. I find the glass is half full, even when Ive just drained it. 21. Do you need a drink now? I never NEED a drink. But I would like one. Let me rummage through the cabinet.
