1408 is a Stephen King thriller
right?
Wrong. This movie, while defiantly having a few spooky moments is defiantly not the best thing Hollywood has put out to date.
Many things that come to mind when I think just how bad this movie was. The pure cliché of it is enough to make you want to close your eyes and sing show tunes to make it go away (Yes, it is that bad).
As for being supernatural I dont think so. Obviously the person writing up the script adaptation of the book has never had a supernatural encounter of any kind nor have they even thought to study it.
My main non-selling point would be the fact that it is just so cliché! Ooh big scary room! Auuugh! Im sorry but Im not buying it.
The room feeds off your deepest fears
Dun Dun Dun
With a winning selling point like that you would expect the film to be truly horrifying, seeing into what humanity fears most. But then not so much. While I can completely understand the main characters fears in the movie, they are NOT in fact horrifically terrifying unless you consider clichéd horror movies to be scary.
To sum it up: The movie has too many cliché, too many points that you just roll your eyes and say I saw that coming. The ending was truly disappointing and I honestly dont know what went wrong. Good actors, good support cast, but in the end it was a flop.
