Well... yeah... but what's he's called and what he is (or becomes) are completely different things... to me, anyway.

Grammatically you're right, it looks wrong. Will have to find a way to rework that sentence!

Cheers (and sorry for the late reply),

"When he becomes Two Face" (Reply to this comment)
by Stephen_Murray, Stephen_Murray is an Advisor on Epinions in Movies
but that was already his moniker back before he became a DA (as is explicit in the movie).

Maggie Gyllenhall is not smiling in her scene with Michael Caine or in her last scene, but I know what you mean. I don't, however, think that "different to" is permitted in the Queen's English.

Hi Erin!

Thanks for your comment, it's a very nice compliment. I still haven't seen another film since this that's had me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.

Wonderfully written, and you make a great case for the movie. Good point, too, about the lack of profanity; I was so focused on the violence I didn't notice, but clean dialogue is always appreciated. And I totally agree with you about the subtle comedic value of Caine and Freeman.

It's a long time since I've seen Tim Burton's Batman so it's difficult to compare.

Maggie Gyllenhall was just annoying... I actually didn't find Katie Holmes particularly annoying (most female characters in superhero movies tend to be!), so obviously I prefered her in the role. Doesn't matter now of course, though they may do flashbacks to Rachel Dawes in the next movie I guess...

Thanks for stopping by!

Wait... (Reply to this comment)

Really? Tim Burton's Batman was rated R? Seriously? No way. I saw that movie when I was seven years old! Jeez, talk about times-a-changing. I thought The Dark Knight was more violent than the '89 movie...

Ok, I'm done commenting now ;) Great review!

How did I miss this review before? (Reply to this comment)

Anyway, I saw this movie twice to let it all sink in. There's a lot going on. But I'm surprised you didn't like Maggie! I thought she was better than Katie Holmes, but it would've been nice to keep the original cast.

Great Review! (Reply to this comment)

Hi Dave

I really found your review both informative and insightful. I agree with you about Gyllenhall. She missed the opportunity to portray true feminine strength and sensitivity. I didn't sense her devotion to either of the men she claimed to love, only dramatic, girlish attachment. Otherwise, I loved the movie and thought the 'darkness' was a perfect fit for the tone and message of the film.

Talk to you soon,

Melana

Yup, it'll definitely be a good idea to do it again, maybe make it an annual event - how many entries did you get altogether in the end??

Yes, I think this is the place... please spit some vitriol this way!! :-D

See, this is what it should be like - we disagree, but we respect each other's opinion (and we both know I'm right!! :-D :-D)

... and thanks for joining the party with your entries. This is definitely the way to end it.

Next year we'll do it again. Same Bat-Time, same Bat-Channel.

The Other Side (Reply to this comment)
by carstairs38
Is this the part where I leave you a nasty comment because you gave the movie 5 stars? :)

Seriously, great review. And thanks for your support on mine.

As to Revenge of the Sith, my problem with that one had nothing to do with the violence and everything to do with the fact that it is deathly boring.
