I just ordered from the site, and it was a noticeable $12 difference from the Newegg in the fujifilm s700 I was buying. This is the first time I had ordered from a site other than Dell (only for a monitor, don't flame me) or Newegg, but everything looked legit. LOOKED LEGIT. They called me today at 9:00 AM, waking me up, and they "confirmed" the billing address, and then ran through the accessories that needed to be sold to me. At first I agreed to get rechargeable batteries after haggling for 39.99->34.99->29.99 and moved on to the filters. He wanted to sell me 3 filters for what, $70? What the crap? I refused, he persisted, until I said that all I needed was the UV filter. After a while he agreed to sell me the UV filter an extended warranty (9 months) for $7 more. I suspected that was only because I ordered the rechargeable batteries, so I put him on hold and called my friend to check up prices and ask him. He told me not to get the batteries, so I tried to cancel, but then the shark told me the deal only came for the batteries included (classic), but he gave me a discount, so I FELT like I got a good deal. The problem- I couldn't check the original price on their website. So I couldn't compare what I paid. Well, for the $157 price I wanted, I ended up with a total of $217. So I got rick rolled into what, $60 of accessories? Wait, I just noticed that they promised me free shipping and handling, and I didn't get it- I'm calling him back right now...
K I was put on hold for...5 minutes at least? When he comes back, I tell he charged me for shipping and handling. Ok, so he tells me that the price mentioned was for INSURANCE and HANDLING W T F. So then I tell him that I've heard horror stories about his work, and he says "We've been in business 21 years." I ask to cancel my order and he says my order is already packaged, so I can't cancel it. I ask if it ships today, then, if it is already packaged. He says he'll call to check. He puts me on hold, and then hangs up on me. I call back- no response, of course. I leave a hate message saying I don't want to conduct a business with such shady conduct.
FSCK! Don't every buy from this site EVER. I knew there was a reason why I stuck to Newegg for everything. I want to get this site shut down.
UPDATE: I called him back and asked if the product was shipped yet. He said yes. I said, I want to cancel my order. I was very specific. I said, then I'd be charged a FIVE PERCENT RESTOCKING FEE, CORRECT? And he was like, Yeah. So I said, then please cancel my order. So then he went and talked to his manager and canceled my order. I could take a 5% restocking fee if it meant that they got less of my money. Thankfully, the only plus side of this whole ordeal, was that Bruce called me back and told me that he talked with his manager and was able to waive the restocking fee. Which makes sense when the product hasn't been shipped yet, right? Right. So I got a free life lesson today.
But don't try it. I like to live life dangerously. Hahaha! Good luck! Don't buy from here! Newegg all the way!
