MUSIC ARTISTS OF ALL TIME - my version write-off

The Bottom Line This was fun. As Alvin might say ... "Let's do it again!"

Wow! MY FAVORITE MUSICAL ARTISTS OF ALL TIME Write-Off! This is going to be some trip - not only in the amusement park in my mind but also down memory lane. Anyone want to come along?

Thanks JAGUARDOG for giving me this opportunity to enter my dreamy roller coaster. All aboard!! And away we go…………….!

Music has always been and probably always will be a very important part of my life. I have many favorite songs but sometimes the artist plays an important roll in your decision to enjoy a song. I’ve heard one particular popular country song sung by the original artist, a remake by a well-known pop artist, a 2nd remake by another country artist and the last remake by the original artist. The first rendition was, by far, the best - and the artist isn’t even one of my favorites.

So, now that we know an artist can and often does make a difference in how a song sounds, let’s get MY favorite artists of all time. (I’ll even follow Jaguardog’s example and put my favorite song along with that artist.)

ALABAMA - Jukebox in My Mind
PAUL ANKA - You Are My Destiny
ATLANTA - Pictures

THE BEATLES - P.S. I Love You
CLINT BLACK - Nothin’ But the Taillights
SUZY BOGGUSS - Somewhere Between
GARTH BROOKS - Friends in low Places

CARPENTERS - Close to You
JOHNNY CASH - Ragged Old Flag
CHAD & JEREMY - Yesterday’s Gone
TERRI CLARK - If I Were You

DC5 - Glad All Over
BOBBY DARIN - Dream Lover
BILLY DEAN - If There Hadn’t Been You
JOE DIFFIE - Third Rock from the Sun
DIXIE CHIX - Goodbye Earl

DUANE EDDY - Sugar Foot Rag / Guitar Man (Couldn’t make up my mind with this one)
EXILE - I Want to Kiss You All Over

FOUR SEASONS - Bye Bye Baby
CONNIE FRANCIS - Don’t Break the Heart That Loves You

GLORIA GAYNER - I Will Survive
BOBBY GOLDSBORO - See The Funny Little Clown

HERMAN’S HERMITS - Can’t You Feel My Heart Beat
FAITH HILL - This Kiss
BRIAN HYLAND - Sealed with a Kiss

ALAN JACKSON - Where Were You
JAN & DEAN - Baby Talk

TOBY KEITH - An Angry American

BRENDA LEE - I Still Miss Someone

THE MAMAS & THE PAPAS - Dream a Little Dream of Me

LORRIE MORGAN - Something In Red

RICKY NELSON - Poor Little Fool
JUICE NEWTON - Love’s Been a Little Bit Hard on Me
NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND - Fishin’ in the Dark

OAK RIDGE BOYS - Thank God for Kids
ROY ORBISON - Crying

DOLLY PARTON - I Will Always Love You (the original, very first version) (Dolly made it first, then Whitney, then Dolly with Vince Gill and finally Dolly again, solo.)
THE PLATTERS - Only You

HELEN REDDY - I Am Woman!
MARTY ROBBINS - El Paso

SOUPY SALES - Pachalafaka / Your Brain's Fall Out (must be MY favorite!!)
NEIL SEDAKA - Stairway to Heaven

TANYA TUCKER - Soon
TRAVIS TRITT - T-R-O-U-B-L-E
CONWAY TWITTY - Hello, Darlin’

QUEEN - We Are The Champions

BOBBY VINTON - (Gee, this is a hard one …) There I’ve Said it Again BUT my all time favorite is Melody of Love

GRETCHEN WILSON - Red Neck Woman

I guess that about winds up my list. I do have other that I like but if I had to really chose favorites, these would be on my list.

If I had to pick only ONE favorite, in Country Music, it would have to be Toby Keith and in R&R, Bobby Vinton.

Please visit Jaquardog’s page for a list of all those other wonderful writers who have added their lists to this fun trip down memory lane.
