User Rating: Disappointing
Bang For The Buck
Pros:None, even the good visual-effects cannot make up for what is wrong with this movie.
Cons:No plot. No entertainment. No dialogue. Frustrating.
The Bottom Line: Do not see it unless absolutely necessary.
This movie, which was supposedly very good proved to be quite the opposite. The plot was more than boring it was frustrating, and at times unnecessarily confusing. within the first forty-five minutes or so we learn that earth has been carelessly overrun with garbage, and that robots have been used to try and clean the mess while the human population sloth into tubs-of-lard in outer space. However this isn't developed further at all throughout the first half of the movie at all, with the audience expected to go along for the ride as they watch Wall-E perform mundane trash collection. And apart from five minutes of news screens that inform us of the aforementioned garbage/space excursion the opening of the movie is entirely devoid of dercinable dialogue, making it very difficult to sit through. The end is slightly better, (when Wall-E and a companion robot sent to search for plants end up aboard the spaceship with the obese humans and deranged robots)but still there is little offered in the way of plot other than a series of bumbling ludacracy in an attempt to get the plant into some sort of bio-container - which doesn't even make sense after its accomplished. The entire sequence drags on much too long, as does the entire movie, all in all it was very poorly executed.
