Under NO circumstances would I recommend Verizon for anything, especially Business DSL service.
Never in my life have I had to endure the kind of 'support' as given by this company in regards to business accounts.
I ordered a Business DSL line for my shop.
It wouldn't work. I spent over 20 hours on the phone (my CELL phone) over the course of almost two months trying to get the issue resolved.
Over and over, I called the number for business accounts and wound up in India with residential account representatives who couldn't match my dsl phone number with my address. They repeatedly told me I had to give them the correct address, which, of course, I could not have known since they had a different address for me than my actual address.
Eventually, they would ask me if I was calling regarding a business account, to which I would reply yes.
They would then tell me I had to call the business accounts phone number (which I had and how I got to them in the first place) and then they would give me the number I HAD JUST CALLED!
Eventually, after weeks upon weeks of this, I actually reached someone who was willing to help.
After several days of fixing my account information (and having them test the line over and over and telling me it tested fine) and trying everything short of actually helping me, they finally sent out a tech crew - who found that THE LINES HAD BEEN CUT DOWN THE STREET ON THE POLE AND THAT I HAD NEVER BEEN CONNECTED (gee, what a surprise).
I really, truly cannot emphasize how DIFFICULT, TIME CONSUMING AND UNSATISFACTORY their customer service is.
To top it off, they keep sending me overdue bills for service I never received, even though I have now spoken to their business billing department several times and have been assured my account has been credited for the service I was not receiving.
It still takes about 20 minutes to get to a person who can actually help.
If it wasn't for the contract, I'd rip the lines out and throw their crap into the street.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!
You'll get better customer service from a 5yr old with 2 paper cups and a string.
A side note... as I am finishing writing this review my cell phone rings... and it is Verizon telling me that my account is overdue and if I don't make a payment my service will be 'interrupted.'
Great, isn't it?
Update: I should add that passing the buck seems to be their method of operation, almost as if it's a game to them and if they don't like what you have to say - hey, transfer the sucker and let him sit on hold until he gives up. I always wind up being transferred several times and spending more time on hold than talking to an actual rep.
That being said, my dsl service now works fine (they use a third-party provider here, btw).
As for billing, I'll have to wait and see. They MADE me pay over $200 to keep my service from being disconnected even though it's only actually worked for the last two weeks and have told me I will see a credit for the time lost within two billing cycles. We'll see.
Just a fantastic way to do business.
