Okay, here it is...drum roll please, my list of favorite A to Z music artists. I have chosen to list one or two of my favorites from each letter of the alphabet and my choice for favorite album or composition. Please see Jaguardog's A-Z W/O for more details.

Allman Brothers Band One of the pioneering classic Southern rock bands, combining blues and soft rock with soaring guitar lines, and Gregg Allman's rough, gravely, vocals. Favorite Album: Eat A Peach.

Baez, Joan 1960's folk icon with a shimmering voice and a penchant for non-violent protest. Favorite Album: Diamonds & Rust

Beatles The most famous rock & roll band of all time! Amazingly, the fab four are still almost as popular today as they were in the 1960's. Favorite Album: Abbey Road.

Beethoven, Ludwig Van My all time favorite classical composer. The emotional intensity and sheer majesty of his work is never more evident than in my favorite compositions: Emperor Concerto and Moonlight Sonata.

Cockburn, Bruce Along with Gordon Lightfoot, one of the most celebrated Canadian born artists of all time. This folk/rock troubadour is well known for his powerful imagery, biting political expression, and humanistic subject matter. Favorite Album: Stealing Fire.

Clapton, Eric One of the greatest guitar players of all time. Clapton is also a great song writer in the British Blues tradition. Favorite Album: 461 Ocean Boulevard.

Dylan, Bob Arguably the greatest song writer who ever lived. Dylan emerged out of the 1960's folk boom to become a mercurial legendary singer/songwriter. Favorite Album: Blood On The Tracks.

Debussey, Claude 19th century French Composer who is often credited with founding musical impressionism, known for his soft, sensual, tone displayed in my favorite Composition: Clair de lune

Eagles Classic Southern California country rock band distinguished by their soaring harmonies and melodic hooks. Favorite Album: Hotel California

Fleetwood Mac One of the most popular soft rock bands of all time, with the dynamic combination of Lindsay Buckingham's musical creativity and Stevie Nick's flair for the dramatic, this band has is a real show stopper. Favorite Album: Tusk

Grant, Amy Highly celebrated Contemporary Christian and crossover pop superstar singer/song writer, whose career amazingly spans four decades. Favorite Album: Behind The Eyes.

Gershwin, George This popular American Composer combines elements of pop, blues, and jazz into his classical work. Also, well known for his Broadway musical scores. Favorite Composition: Rhapsody In Blue.

Hornsby, Bruce Pianist and song writer noted for his jazzy, improvisational, piano techniques, and gift for storytelling in his songs. Favorite Album: That's The Way It Is

Haydn, Franz Josef Classic Era composer, noted for his stringed quartets and symphonies. Favorite Composition: Symphony #94 (Surprise)

Indigo Girls Modern folk/rock duo that features a dichotomy of melodic ballads and rough edged rockers, wrapped around tight harmonies. Favorite Album: Rites Of Passage

Jackson, Joe Dynamic, eclectic, artist from the 1970's that combines reggae, blues, salsa and pop styles with a worldbeat sound. Favorite Album: Night And Day.

Krauss, Alison Mainstream country/bluegrass fiddler with an achingly pure voice, and a band that really shines on instrumental bluegrass numbers. Favorite Album: Now That I've Found You.

Krall, Diana Jazz singer/pianist with a flair for contemporary arrangements of old standards and modern jazz numbers. Favorite Album: Girl In The Other Room

Lynryd Skynyrd Definitive, hard driving, blues influenced Southern Rock Band, before tragedy struck and several members were killed in a plane crash. Favorite Album: Second Helping.

Los Lonely Boys Young Texican style rock band that combines Latin rhythms with stinging guitar licks. Favorite Album: Los Lonely Boys.

Morrison, Van Irish balladeer with a soulful voice and gift for poetic lyricism. Favorite Album: Moondance

Mc Cartney, Paul Former Beatle, with smooth vocals and youthful good looks, still rocking & rolling after all these years. Favorite Album: Band On The Run.

Nickle Creek Youthful Neo-bluegrass/folk band blazing a trail from California to Appalachia with their energetic style of music. Favorite Album: Nickle Creek

O'Connor, Mark Accomplished Nashville fiddler, who has made a living as a highly respected sessions player and solo performer. Favorite Album: The Fiddle Concerto

Police British band that helped launch the New Wave movement in the 70's, as well as the career of lead singer, Sting. Favorite Album: Synchronicity

Queen Bombastic British rock group with a flair for the dramatic. Favorite Album A Night At The Opera.

Raitt, Bonnie Rock & roll singer with a sultry slide guitar, combining rock, R & B, and blues with soulful vocals. Favorite Album: Nick Of Time

R.E.M. Georgia based alternative rock band known for their cryptic lyrics and garage band sound. Favorite Album: Automatic For The People

Sade South African born and British raised singer with a sensual, stylish pop, jazz, and R & B flavored mix. Favorite Album: Diamond Life

Springsteen, Bruce Working class, heartland rocker. "The Boss" to his fans and his top notch band, known simply, as The E Street Band. Favorite Album: Darkness On The Edge Of Town.

Steely Dan Innovative band from the '70-80's famous for their enigmatic lyrics and breezy jazz guitar riffs. Favorite Album: Countdown To Ecstasy

Twain, Shania Pop/Country performer from Canada, known for her slickly produced albums and glamorous looks. Favorite Album: Come On Over.

Tchiakovsky, Petor Il'yich Classical Composer famous for his sweeping, powerful, symphonies and overtures. Favorite Composition: 1812 Overture

U-2 Irish rock band of the '80's known for their sonic rhythms, echoing guitars, and zealous lyrics. Favorite Album: Joshua Tree

Vaughan, Stevie Ray Charismatic blues guitarist out of the Jimi Hendrix mode. Favorite Album: Couldn't Stand The Weather

Williams, Hank Legendary Country singer/Songwriter known as the father of contemporary country music, recognized for his direct, poignant, lyrics. Favorite Album: Live At the Grand Ole Opry

Xavier Funky R & B musician who played all of the instruments on his debut album. Favorite Album: X Factor

Young Neil Canadian singer/songwriter, 1/4th of one of the most successful folk/rock bands of the '70's CSNY. Favorite Album: After The Gold Rush

Zevon, Warren Eccentric, satirical, soft rocker/ songwriter of searing ballads and zany pop styled tunes. Favorite Album: Excitable Boy
