I bought 3 of the Triad Cell Honeycomb Shades in January 2007. Within the first couple of months the point were the string attaches to the header popped off. This happened within the first dozen times I used all three of the shades.
Next all the plastic parts on the string have cracked and broken off on two of the shades. So now I have a single string with sticking out of the header. It looks horrible.
Then I noticed within a year the fabric which is actually the top of the shade detached from the header in the middle of the rail. Two of the three are doing this now.
I called their customer service number which has pretty minimal hours of operation. So I had to call during work. The rep was nice but told me I needed to get some information from the top of the header rail. In other words I needed to pull the blinds off the window to get the information. Kind of hard to do that from work. I had all the other information such as order number, confirmation email, etc but they need something that they could not pull up that was on a sticker on the blind.
It took be a good 3 months to get around to pulling two of the blinds off the windows which is harder than putting them up. Really surprised it didn't just fall apart. I wrote down all the information that seemed important (batch #, po #, a huge string of numbers). I just called them back during work and got to the same spot as before. I gave them the numbers I had written down. It turns out that they need everything on the label for some reason. You would think that a mainly internet company would be able to pull up all the information from a single number.
I don't usually write this sort of review but this one is too bad to not share. Stay away from this company! Their quality is horrible.
Spend a little bit more for the Hunter Douglas blinds which I installed on my second floor and they look great and function perfectly.
