The MC's Write-Off

I am hosting my first write-off after about 2 months on epinions. Read for info below:

The MC's write-off is basically a chance for emcees/aspiring rappers/aspiring producers to say what's on their mind in a small interview composed by me. Yes, aspiring producers or even just poets can join. I would like all MC's to join however this is not limited to aspiring rappers. If anybody would like to join in and just make everything entirely up, poking fun at the lifestyle that's fine too as long as it sticks to humor and nothing offensive. The questions and my answers are below. If you are a poet/author or a producer and you want to join just slightly alter the questions below and add your own answers in. Have fun!

When did you first start?: May 1, 2002

What was your first record called and what did it focus on?: "No Munny"; and I was horrible back then, so it really had no real subject matter, just a bunch of blabbering into the mic

Name 5-10 of your inspirations: Rakim, (the old) Eminem, Ludacris, Nas, Common, Canibus

Have you ever performed live?: Besides in my school freestyling (if you could call that performing) no, but I'm open to it

How many songs have you written (estimate): Close to 300. However I've completed and started so many verses that haven't made it ito the complete process of a finished song, either written or recorded.

Your latest song you have written: "For I Never Dreamt"

Your latest song you have recorded: I'm almost finished recording a song called "Fragile" but the latest one I finished was called "Civil"

What equipment do you use?: GarageBand 2

How often do you get to record?: Every couple of weeks at my friend's house, though his microphone is starting to fizzle out.

What label would you prefer to get signed to?: Call me crazy, but GOOD Music, Kanye's label - they've got Common and I think I could reach potential there.

How did you obtain your name?: My friend's mom's friend gave it to me around when I first started rapping a few years ago.

Do you think you are an inspiration to your friends/fans?: I doubt it, though it's possible.

If you got signed right now and had to choose a song you've already recorded for a single - which one would you choose?: Either "S.N.I.K", or "Every Next Line"

Has anybody wanted to follow in your footsteps?: No, but my brother reconsidered changing his name to Pez for some reason

What was the worst/stupidest complaint you’ve ever gotten?: I’m whack…which will never EVER be true

What was the big decision that got you into rap/writing?: Just listening and keeping my ears open

Pick two people in the industry you’d like to collab with – 1 producer and 1 MC: 9th Wonder and one of the inspirations I put up there

Stupidest thing you’ve ever said in your rhymes: Pretty much anything in my pimp song W/O entry…lol

Best thing you’ve ever said in your rhymes: ‘The only reason they can’t see me is cause I’m tinted from the outside’ in other words, they can’t see my potential because they’re blinded by my skin color (white)

Favorite rap quote: “I wonder if these wack n***** realize they wack/And they the reason that my people say they tired of rap!” – Common

Thing you get aggravated about in hip hop listeners: They don’t know anything about hip hop :P I’m not saying I know everything about it, but all they know is G-Unit and Roc-A-Fella.

A rapper you don't wanna admit you like, but you do:Well I liked Chingy's "One Call Away" (yes I'll admit it) and Baby Bash isn't that bad; although his voice has an odd sort of dryness to it.

Things having to do with rap that get you angry: Racists and people who hate rap for no reason at all; which translates to the question after next.

Funniest parody rap you've heard: Tie between Peter Griffin's "Cant Touch Me" and Weird Al's "Couch Potato"

Do you have any good friends that hate rap?: Sadly yes, many people I know refuse to open their minds to a different form of music thanks to stubbornness and what they have heard from the mainstream.

Will you add snik1 to your trust list: N/A

That's it! If you are entering the W/O (which I doubt anybody will...*sniff*) please post your entry in the comments section and I will read it and most likely drop a comment. Thanks!

Despite what I said about it ending earlier this month; I'm still accepting late entries from other up-and-coming emcees. So don't be hesitant to put your word in to this W/O.
