Puckmugger’s Second Annual Sport’s Challenge Write-off
Jul 06 '05 (Updated Feb 08 '06)
The Bottom Line Get out there and try something new!
Greetings friends! I know that many of you have been holding your breath for a year waiting for my next write off. Unfortunately if youve been holding your breath that long, youre not likely reading this (or anything for that matter). Sorry I made you wait so long.
Nonetheless, the Second Annual Sports Challenge Write-off commemorates a few things. First (and most obvious to those with even below average reading comprehension skills) is that it has been a year since the first Sports Challenge Write off. Second, the write off commemorates my 300th review. It also marks the completion of my 20 new hockey gear reviews. I needed an excuse to review something other than hockey gear. I put myself on the spot by promising 20 new reviews and wow I got tired of hockey gear reviews. I needed a break.
This year I decided to make the Challenge a little different. This write-off will be a two-part event. But hey, Im doing this to make it easier, not harder, so the second part is optional. The first part is required.
Heres how it works. The first part is the question and answer write-off that we all love to join. The second part is to get out there and try something new. Once youve tried a new sport or outdoor activity, just post a review of a related product and I will link you up. Heres the catch, if you already post in sports and outdoors, you need to post a review of something you dont normally review. (For me hockey is out of the picture).
Here are the questions (This part is mandatory):
1. What are your favorite sports to watch on television?
2. How often do you watch sports on television?
3. What are your favorite sports to watch live?
4. How many live sporting events do you typically attend annually?
5. What organized team sports have you ever participated in previously?
6. What organized individual sports have you participated in previously?
7. What pick-up sports have you participated in previously?
8. What sports or outdoor activities do you currently participate in?
9. How often?
10. Is there any sport that you wish you could participate in now?
11. Whats keeping you from doing it?
12. If your fairy godmother was going to give you all the skill and a job in pro sports, what sport would you play?
13. What team and position (if relevant)?
14. What beer would you promote as a sports celebrity? (OK, that was just to make certain Bruguru, Marty and Fuche participate)
15. What brand would you promote?
16. Do you have any sports heroes? Who are they and why are they your heros?
17. If you could invent a new sport, no matter how absurd, what would it be?
I hope youll have some fun and join in the write off. Id love to see some new sports and outdoors reviews. Its summertime, so get out there and get in shape. Just put your entrys url in the comments when you post them and I will add you to the links on the bottom of the page here.
Lastly, entries must be in by the end of August. Otherwise you will be painted purple and tied up in the yard where the big boys and girls can make fun of you.
