The Bottom Line Join in the fun . . . well I had fun anyway (grin)

Hey all. Here is my entry to my write off. Huh, that seems pretty weird to write. Nonetheless, here it is.

1. What are your favorite sports to watch on television?
NHL Hockey used to be my favorite until everyone got too greedy to play. I love watching College hockey too (Go Pioneers). I also enjoy football, but not like I used to.

2. How often do you watch sports on television?
I used to never miss a Colorado Buffs game or a Denver Bronco’s game. Now I catch them if I’m bored. Hockey I will look to see if there is a good game on, but I rarely watch more than one or two games a month anymore.

3. What are your favorite sports to watch live?
The atmosphere at a college football game is pretty hard to beat, even for a hockey fan like me.

4. How many live sporting events do you typically attend annually?
I usually get out to two or three hockey games and one football game. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive.

5. What organized team sports have you ever participated in previously?
I played soccer as a kid. I loved to play center fullback, but oddly I never got the whole scoring thing. I’ve played football, baseball and hockey in organized leagues as well.

6. What organized individual sports have you participated in previously?

I played a racquetball tournament. I got a taste of reality there. I thought I was good until I played some guys who really were.

7. What pick-up sports have you participated in previously?
All of them pretty much. As a kid we played, football, basketball, hockey, baseball, waffle ball, heck we made up sports sometimes.

8. What sports or outdoor activities do you currently participate in?
Hockey and racquetball

9. How often?
I play hockey 4 times a week (more sometimes). Racquetball is rather infrequent, but maybe once a month.

10. Is there any sport that you wish you could participate in now?
I wish I could still play football sometimes.

11. What’s keeping you from doing it?
A couple of things. I had a shoulder injury which keeps me from throwing like I used to (I had a pretty good arm in the day and love to play Quarterback). Also, there aren’t any flag football leagues to be found around here.

12. If your fairy godmother was going to give you all the skill and a job in pro sports, what sport would you play?
Here is one that might shock you. I think I would play NHL Quarterback.

13. What team and position (if relevant)?
I think it would have to be some horrible team so that I could lead them into a new era and numerous championships to be heralded as the greatest to ever play the game. Maybe the Lions or the Browns (Hey, this is all fantasy, right?).

14. What beer would you promote as a sports celebrity? (OK, that was just to make certain Bruguru, Marty and Fuche participate)
As fun as it would be to become the official spokesperson for some really great beer that no one ever heard of, I would have to go with Coors. Hey, I’m a pro athlete, this is all about money now.

15. What brand would you promote?

Nike wouldn’t be the one, but that’s because I know they don’t make good ice skates. Strange since I’m a quarterback, right? How about I become the first NHL player to use CCM shoes?

16. Do you have any sports heroes? Who are they and why are they your heros?
I’ve never really been one to chase autographs and such, but I do have a lot of respect for guys who have a huge level of success and remain normal and humble. Players like Barry Sanders and Joe Sakic who are extremely talented and don’t make the newspapers for doing anything wrong or stupid come to mind.

17. If you could invent a new sport, no matter how absurd, what would it be?
Cut-throat hockey – It would be played on a triangle shaped rink with three teams all competing at the same time. You win by playing the best defense and giving up the least goals. It doesn’t matter how many you score.

Typically I would thank the host here, but that was me, so instead I will invite you all to join in. Here is the original posted invitation - http://www.epinions.com/content_4427194500
