Puckmugger’s Second Annual Sport’s Challenge Write-off

The Bottom Line Why is this required again? : )

1. What are your favorite sports to watch on television.
Since watching COPS pull people out of their mobile homes with night sticks in hand isn’t a sport, and neither is cheerleader videos, I would have to go for football. I watch every Redskins game during the season and the Steelers is my wife’s team, and yes I have Sunday Ticket with 2 tv’s. Basketball is my second choice, but since the Lakers now suck I don’t watch too much.

2. How often do you watch sports on television?
During the season? Every time football is on we watch. Not that often with Basketball unless it is the finals.

3. What are your favorite sports to watch live?
Football and Basketball. Getting a little repetitive here?

4. How many live sporting events do you typically attend annually?
Oh, one every 4 years.

5. What organized team sports have you ever participated in previously?
Volleyball, Basketball.

6. What organized individual sports have you participated in previously?
Track & Cross country.

7. What pick-up sports have you participated in previously?
Volleyball, Basketball

8. What sports or outdoor activities do you currently participate in?
Only pick-up games and those are not often. Outdoor activities are hiking, camping, backpacking (if I could get someone to watch the kids), making very large fires or blowing up camping stoves.

9. How often?
Not often enough.

10. Is there any sport that you wish you could participate in now?
Ya, football.

11. What’s keeping you from doing it?
I’m too old and I have had 2 surgeries on my knee. There is a big fear of re-injuring the leg so I play it safe with simple activities that do not require cutting.

12. If your fairy godmother was going to give you all the skill and a job in pro sports, what sport would you play?
Football.

13. What team and position (if relevant)?
Any team with Joe Gibbs and as a quarterback.

14. What brand would you promote?
Northface.

15. Do you have any sports heroes? Who are they and why are they your heros?
Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Brett Favre, Patrick Ramsey. The first three because they are great role models that love the game. Patrick took a beating and kept playing even when Spurrier refused to properly protect him. That took a lot of discipline and courage.
Just the opposite of that is Sean Taylor. No explanation needed.

16. If you could invent a new sport, no matter how absurd, what would it be?
I was always partial to the running man idea for a sport. Since that would never fly (and I’m kind of glad it wouldn’t) I am partial to burning things. So anything with making fires and watching it consume massive quantities of stuff is always cool.
And my third choice would be to make football more exciting. Instead of organized plays we would have organized chaos. You would hike the ball and you had to get the ball into your goal like normal. But this time nothing stopped the clock. Not falling, not being tackled, not getting injured, no whistles (since I get rid of the refs), nothing. You get the ball, anyway possible, into your goal and the other three teams are trying to do the same. And you play on a very large field in….Montana.
