This service is supposed to be a hassle free way of booking travel. In theory, yes it is. In reality, they never booked my travel, a hassle.

The old saying we all learned as children still applies today...always double check!
I made a hotel reservation via Orbitz(I thought) and thought the process went rather smoothly. Easy to read descriptions, and simple sign up. I quickly received a confirmation number and receipt and a warm feeling that my vacation was booked.
A few days later, when I had a question not answered by the hotels website, I gave them a ring. Upon giving the desk clerk my reservation number, I was told there was no reservation under my name and the reservation number was invalid. Then the clerk informed me that the hotel was sold out and I would have to find other accommodations.
Now we enter the wonderful world of Orbitz "lack o' customer service". I spent a time working as a DJ at an adult contemp. radio station, so hold music does not bother me, only after twenty minutes did I start to get angry. The woman I spoke two was very kind, and explained to me that the website must have been down for a few minutes when I booked and that she would double check the reservation. When she returned she pulled up my reservation and told me that the web outage was the problem. My question to her was, "Well why wasn't it booked after the outage? It's in your computer so you did receive it that day." No answer. I was told that my case was being sent to their "Chicago Office" and that it would be several days before I would hear anything!!!!! Realizing that I was going to end up a particular creek minus my paddle, I tried their email customer service. This resulted in a form letter response several hours later, with no attention to my case.
So customer service has yet to call and all of the hotels within 5 miles of my conference are booked. Word to the wise....always book it yourself and always double check!
