The Bottom Line Sports Yeah!!
Epinions member Puckmugger is sponsoring a write off in the sports area entitled the Second Annual Sports Challenge Write Off. The write off is two prong, part one of the write off is a question and answer type deal, and the second part of the write off is a review on a sporting good product. For more details on the write off you can go to: http://www.epinions.com/content_4427194500 Here is my first phase entry 1. What are your favorite sports to watch on television? Football and tennis and occasionally boxing if it is someone I know 2. How often do you watch sports on television? Every Sunday during the football season, Random tennis matches usually just grand slam events, havent watched boxing in a while, I have not really been following it recently 3. What are your favorite sports to watch live? Although I dont watch it on TV I think Hockey is a blast to watch live. I also like to watch my kids play baseball. 4. How many live sporting events do you typically attend annually? It depends on if you are talking about professional or little league. Professional a couple a year. 5. What organized team sports have you ever participated in previously? Tennis, soft ball, some gymnastics, and badminton (yes indoor badminton laugh all you like, I lettered in badminton in high school) 6. What organized individual sports have you participated in previously? I guess I would again say Tennis, gymnastics and badminton, although technically I played for teams. but on an individual or partner basis. 7. What pick-up sports have you participated in previously? Softball, Basketball, I have this set shot and everyone thinks it is so funny because I am only 5 feet tall, but somehow I manage to make a lot of baskets. Does horse count? 8. What sports or outdoor activities do you currently participate in? Lately the most activity I get is taking my kids to their sporting events, I try to walk as much as possible, sometimes I pitch and hit balls with the kids, and we swim. 9. How often? Unfortunately only occasionally 10. Is there any sport that you wish you could participate in now? Tennis, I just love playing tennis, but I dont really have anyone to play with and dont really have any one who can watch my 1 ½ year old when I play. 11. Whats keeping you from doing it? Motherhood, lack of a partner, I was going to take a class at my local park district but they only had one session for adults, and by the time I went to sign up that session was over, I read the book wrong I thought there were three sessions, but there was only the one. 12. If your fairy godmother was going to give you all the skill and a job in pro sports, what sport would you play? Probably tennis 13. What team and position (if relevant)? Not really relevant for tennis, although I had the best time with my doubles partner in college, we would laugh and joke when we played, and yet we worked remarkably well together as we were doing it. It really used to tick off our opponents. So I think if I was given all the skill in the world I would want her to have it to and we would reunite and be the goofiest doubles team on the pro circuit. 14. What beer would you promote as a sports celebrity? (OK, that was just to make certain Bruguru, Marty and Fuche participate) I am not really into beer but I had a cider beer once that was pretty good, but I dont know the name of it. 15. What brand would you promote? I guess I would promote the brand whose company was willing to pay me the most. But I guess that would make me a hypocrite. 16. Do you have any sports heroes? Who are they and why are they your heroes? Walter Peyton, he was a local celebrity and one of the best football players to ever live. He was also a very nice guy who treated his fans really well, he used a to own a restaurant/bar in a town near here where I happened to live at the time and he would stop by a lot and talk to the people. I like Otis Wilson too also from the 1985 Bears Super Bowl Team, mostly because he used to be a friend of my former boss, and he used to be really nice to me, and always told my boss that he really needed to give me a raise because my car was a piece of crap. 17. If you could invent a new sport, no matter how absurd, what would it be? Now thats a hard one, Ill have to get back to you on that. Probably something with a play ground ball. Thank you Puckmugger for sponsoring this fun write off. Now I must challenge myself to write a Sporting Good review. |
