If you're a hotmail user and know others who are also Hotmail users, then this is definitely a great service. I like the way it looks and the ability to change your nickname whenever you so desire. You can also view who has added you to their list and block any users you need to. Receiving email alerts and notifications of when buddies sign on takes the form of boxes in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. The service is easy to use and often times is available when I can't even connect to the Internet itself (I have a broadband, satellite connection). The feature of seeing if and when your friend is typing is also handy. One more feature that I must mention is the "Appear Offline" status for when you want to receive notifications, yet don't have time to chat. I have no complaints about MSN Messenger Service at all.
