Bev,

It was a great weekend what with both Live 8 and Carole; I felt extremely fortunate to have had those opportunities.

Welcome back from your hiatus, you're still on my alerts so I'll be watching for new reviews!

Hi Loree,

You are very welcome and I hope you find a concert close by, it was a real thrill to see her perform after loving her music for so many years.

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Hi Deb,

I'm not sure which song you mean but I don't think she sang it; perhaps it didn't fit the upbeat happy tone of the night. The concert was almost all her old ones that everyone knows and it was amazing to hear them live.

Thank you for the visit!

I, too, love Carole King, and her honest voice. I saw her in concert many moons ago, while I was in college. I can't remember the name of the song, as my CD is in the car, but did she sing the song she wrote right after 9/11? I can't listen to the song without crying.

Loved this review and the thought of you dancing at this concert!

Hi George and thank you for your kind words. She certainly is a legend with an incredible catalogue of music, both singing and writing. I'm very lucky to have seen her perform.

Always lovely to see you!

Alive David,

Wa-hoa! She's 63 now? Damn, time flies. Of course, I own nothing by her, not even "Tapestry".. actually that's a lie, I have that on vinyl, but it's so worn now, it refuses to play (much like Jan after a meal). He's such a brat.

I hasn't realised her age until she mentioned it but ti doesn't seem to have slowed her down one bit. Wish I could say that and I'm more than 20 years younger! Doesn't Jan know that after he's been fed a meal, he's supposed to be the dessert?

Of course, I do remember several cover versions of "I Feel the Earth Move", one by (Come and get some in) Martika ('s kitchen) And also, a really camp cover by a British boy band from yester-year called Big Fun. And they really were!

I don't know those versions, you must share them with me.

Sounds like you had a fun filled weekend, what with Live 8, too. And you worry too much, your review was great!

It was a fun weekend. Live 8 was amazing and this concert was a huge bonus on top. I do worry too much, that's true.. and it's also true that you're very sweet and kind.

Caroline - alive in my bedroom.

Hi Jenny,

I don't have that album you mentioned, but it certainly looks like one I should get. Thank you for mentioning it and thanks for taking time to leave a comment.

LOL Mike, you can gladly slap him. I know who's doing it though and as soon as all his duplicate accounts are deleted by Eps, those ratings will disapper. You know that saying, "A leopard can't change his spots," well, a sheep can't change it's wool either.

Hey Liz!

Wow, two concerts in such a short time? I'm still hoping to convince someone to see System of a Down and The Mars Volta with me. Too bad you don't live near Philly (and want to see those bands).

I don't usually get to see 2 concerts a year, let alone on one weekend so it was mad fun for me. If I lived near Philly, I'd defintiely go to those concerts with you!

Anyway, I'm sorry to say i don't know much of Carole King aside from "Where You Lead", which I only know from Gilmore Girls (an awesome, awesome show by the way). But you made her sound so good that I'd consider seeing her live, which is the whole point of a concert review, isn't it?

I would bet money you'd know her songs if you heard them. Tapestry has sold well over 10 million, you must have come across them sometimes.

Thanks for dropping in!

This sounds like a wonderful concert. I don't know if you're aware of this or not, but Carole King does have a wonderful live album available (recorded just a year and two days before my birth in June 1972). Here's a link to Amazon...

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000002ADY/qid=1121640486/sr=8-10/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i10_xgl15/103-1724556-0753441?v=glance&s=music&n=507846

And of course, I own this disc and have written a review of it. Five stars all the way.

Great review!

ANd may I add that peoploe who hide behind their Not Helpful ratings deserve to be slapped...in a much less fun (for them, but probably much more fun for me) way...

Hi Patricia,

It was amazing to see her and realize, at 63, she's still going strong and sounds as good as ever. Never thought I'd get the chance.

Thank you so much for stopping by, it's always a pleasure to see you.

I don't know much about Carole King other than "Tapestry", which I'll happily admit is an awesome album. Sounds like you enjoyed the show!!
