Are you a Spec-Tator or a Couch-Tater? Puckmugger's Sports w/oJul 17 '05 Write an essay on this topic. The Bottom Line Whether you are a spec-tator or a couch-tater, sports are fun! More and more, I seem to be doing sports from the perspective of a couch tater, but I just couldn't resist entering PUCKMUGGER'S WRITE-OFF. 1.What are your favorite sports to watch on television? Tennis (U.S. Open, French Open, Wimbledon) 2. How often do you watch sports on television? I must admit to not watching sports very often, until football season. Monday Night Football is on every Monday at our house. 3. What are your favorite sports to watch live? I haven't been to a live (college) football game in years, but when I did go, it was very exciting to watch. Live basketball is great to see live too. Big difference between watching it live and watching it on TV, in my opinion. 4. How many live sporting events do you typically attend annually? Got to go to an Angels game, and a Dodgers game last year. What fun! 5. What organized team sports have you ever participated in previously? Soccer, neighborhood touch football and baseball - way, way back in high school. 6. What organized individual sports have you participated in previously? Again, my answer is TENNIS. 7. What pick-up sports have you participated in previously? Somewhat the same answer as in #5 and Capture the Flag, if that counts. We also used to make up sports games. 8. What sports or outdoor activities do you currently participate in? Not sure if this counts, but jazzercise classes and yoga classes I occasionally attend at the YMCA. 9. How often? Usually two or three times a week, if I make it to the class. Otherwise, I do something on my own, such as the stationary bicycle, elliptical machine or the treadmill. 10. Is there any sport that you wish you could participate in now? I'd like to find a regular tennis partner. 11. Whats keeping you from doing it? I have two jobs, so it's a little hard finding the time, but I do try! 12. If your fairy godmother was going to give you all the skill and a job in pro sports, what sport would you play? I would love to play tennis like Venus or Serena Williams or any of the champs, actually. I'm not too picky. 13. What team and position (if relevant)? Not really relevant, but again, if I won at Wimbledon, I can easily see myself kissing that silver urn. (I can dream, can't I?). 14. What beer would you promote as a sports celebrity? (OK, that was just to make certain Bruguru, Marty and Fuche participate) Gee, that's a tough one; how about one I've heard of, but never tried, called "Simpatico". (I heard it's pretty bad!) 15. What brand would you promote? K-Swiss is a brand of shoes I've been happy with. 16. Do you have any sports heroes? Who are they and why are they your heroes? I admire Lance Armstrong (like everyone else) as an athlete for overcoming his cancer, but as for his personal life, who knows. Scott Hamilton is an inspiration too, for beating his cancer. Also, have always liked Joe Montana's smile for some reason. Last but not least, the great, JACK NICKLAUS! 17. If you could invent a new sport, no matter how absurd, what would it be? When my brother was recovering from two broken legs, we invented a game that would be so easy for anyone else, but tough for him. We used to throw a small nerf ball up onto the roof and try to catch it before it bounced down to the ground. It was called "Roof-It". If the nerf ball hit the ground, no point. I always let him win! (Remember, Brian?) This was fun! Thanks Puckmugger! ~Thanks for reading~ © gkm . |
