Why thank you kindly, Sue. I'm glad that I was able to turn back ti-ome for you. Ooh, we have a company event on Monday that involves karaoke. Look out!
it's just not a pairing you see all that often....
Yep, I like strange mixes of music I guess.
BTW, you are not a dinosaur!

It's such a bizarrely sleazy song that I inevitably thought of Jack.

I definitely thought of Jack when I chose the verb "bedding."
So, are you now saying that you think of Jack when you mull over the act of love?
I'm jealous.

For some reason (Reply to this comment)

it makes me happy to see Cher and CSNY next to each other on the list. Yeah, I know it's alphabetical and all, but still - it's just not a pairing you see all that often....
I went through my CSNY phase in high school - blasting "Winchester Cathedral" on Christmas Eve - much to the chagrin of my mother.
I love this list - it has loads of things from my youth on it - always a good thing, since that makes me feel like less of a dinosaur.
Which means that you've managed to turn back ti-ome......

Thanks, Stacey! I am 24, so I don't remember when Heart first came out. :)
Mariah Carey's debut album came out in 1990. I thought it was 1989. Oops. So, I guess it's 15 years then.
Cheers,
Becky

I don't feel like arguing today anyway.
Well, it's now a new day.
Considering that guns are used over 2.5 million times each year to successfully ward off violent attacks (most of the time without ever having to fire the gun), to say that one is "more likely" to be shot with their own gun must mean that there are at least that many times, plus one, of instances where people are killed in that fashion.
I don't know about you, but I do not hear of that many stories of such instances. Nor can I seem to find the statistics....

Becks,
Quite an interesting mix you've got going on there. And of course I have to "yay!" all the Britpop bands... and also, Erasure, LOL.
I once also met Damon (true story) It was at a gig on the MLiR tour way back in 92. After the show a friend was interviewing the band for a music fanzine (Blur weren't as big back then) and Damon was perched on the edge of the stage smoking a cigarette, so I got him to sign my ticket!
But yeah, you have some good taste going on.
Cheers!
Posh.

I loved the way you explained why you included Heart - that's exactly how I feel about them but I'm not so sure I could put it into words. I think you're pretty young (not sure how old you are) but I'm 37 and can barely remember when Heart was around the first time in the 70's.
Also, are you sure that Mariah Carey's Someday is 16 yrs. old? I'm pretty sure she didn't even make it big until 1991 - but I could be wrong.
Nice job! I look forward to Part 2!

Well... I hear its pretty good for warding off rapists, too. (Or are you pro-rape?)
Of course I'm not pro-rape, and I am all for self-defense, but I have read statistics that people are much more likely to get shot with their own gun than defend themselves with it. So, if a women pulls a gun on a would-be rapist, the rapist could rip the gun from her hands and shoot her. Some kick-boxing moves are probably better. I am trying to find these stats, but my company is blocking the sites as "forbidden: weapons." haha.
I don't feel like arguing today anyway.

Mike,
Thanks for the compliments. You are too kind.
Maybe I should have included Michael Jackson, but he's not really on my musical radar at this point. I did like his stuff in the '80s, though.
And we still need to go and beat that guy up for not letting us sing "Feelin' On Yo Booty"
Oh, yeah! I forgot about that! Maybe he thought it was obscene or something...
Later,
Becky

Oh man, I wish he would sing again and that I could go and see him in concert.
Is he retired now? He put on a great live show. I haven't paid much attention to country music in a few years, but I read in the tabloids that he married Trisha Yearwood! Craziness.

By far the most creative and interesting entry in this write-off. You do the Whitney and Mariah songs more justice than you think, and I love the Joan Jett shirt you have! She's such a bad*ss dyke. I love her.
Hey! No Michael Jackson! What gives?
And we still need to go and beat that guy up for notnletting us sing "Feelin' On Yo Booty"

This is what you call getting out of hand. My entry gets out of hand... I enjoyed this, while you know well I listen to much different stuff. However, I do love Hendrix.

you forgot to add your link to your Don Henley album review. Oh and for some reason (though it might just be on my computer) whenever you mention the '80's' or the '60's', it reads as a rectangle shape with an 's' instead.
Other than that I loved the review and how you explained your choices well.
