Lordy Lordy Look Who Hit 100! My Entry Into Romasuave's Own Personal Epinions Write-OffJul 21 '05 Write an essay on this topic. The Bottom Line Because you only hit 100 once... Roman turned 100! Reviews, that is. So to commemorate his official move up into the rank and file of Ep Addicts, I am participating in Romasuave's Own Personal Epinions Write-Off!. Come join in on the fun... Now, without any further ado: Member Name and meaning behind it (if there is one): mrs-j is my Eps member name. The highly creative meaning? Well, I married a fellow named Jay. You derive the rest for yourself. Date I joined Epinions: June 6, 2003, a date that shall live in infamy of the hearts and souls of people across the world, young and old alike. How I stumbled upon Epinions: I'd come to the site before to read reviews, and finally decided to do some complaining^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^H^Hreviewing of my own. Number of member visits: As of today, 16,249 Number of total visits: As of today, 201,254. I was quite excited to join the 200k club a couple of days ago. My very first review (with link and description): A dull review of a dull product, Microsoft Windows XP - Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition: An OS So Nice, Even I am Surprised!. Yeah, I'm not quite so surprised now. (yawn) The 3 favorite reviews that Ive written (with links): Here are the three I have listed on my webpage. They're three of my favorite things, though the reviews aren't across the board the best: Santorini - An Island of Unearthly Beauty and History 2005 Toyota Highlander: My Home Away from Home (on 4 wheels) Uniden 5.8GHz Phone System: Finally An Expandable System That Works! My most complete review: I've had several that took days to write because I kept thinking of stuff to add, but I've been told that this one's pretty complete - Celebrity Millennium: "A True Departure" was not a truly great Departure. My most successful Write-Off (If I wrote one, include link): I've only had one, my first one for Father's Day this year - Now Presenting: The 2005 Father's Day Write-Off!. Favorite W/O I participated in (with link): Well I'm just going to have to go all selfish and say - my one and only hosted W/O thus far. My most lucrative review (with link and $$$ earned): That would be the one about our first home theater projector - InFocus X1 - An Amazing Projector at an Amazing Price. It's actually earned, unbelievably enough, $159.44. That's about an eighth of the price we paid for the projector. Not bad. Things I like most about Epinions: Being able to vent and get paid for it. Knowing that I've helped steer possibly thousands of people toward good products and services and away from bad products and services. Having a chance to speak out when a product or service is unacceptable, and knowing it makes a difference, albeit probably a small one. Things I dislike most about Epinions: People who come in and abuse the system for whatever reason. People who write "Drama Queen" reviews solely designed to get more hits. Advisers, CL's and others who get off on being rude. There aren't many, but Epinions has its share of heavily entrenched bad apples. Fortunately that's why God, or Garrett, or whoever, made block lists! Members I admire most on Epinions: My WoT. It's out there. There are others, but I don't want to single anyone out at the risk of leaving out a dozen others I adore as well. My ultimate goal at Epinions: A sense of personal achievement, which I've already accomplished. And making good beer money for being opinionated. |
