The Bottom Line I've become synonymous with a Yugo's engine.
Ain't What I Used to Be (Gantenberg) I used to run a mile in five minutes flat Sprinted for the track team, 100-meter dash I ran circles around the fat kids And the skinny boys was slow You'd have thought I was the Flash Instead of a plain old Joe But now I huff and puff, and it's plain enough to see Even the bigger boys run faster than me Cuz I'm always smokin' cigarettes And breathin' in the cold And my lungs ain't what they used to be They are black, and they are old I used to cut my hair and shave every day Shower in the mornin', smellin' good always I used to wear a fancy tie Just a little loose around my neck I looked nice in every way Cuz the teachers always checked But now my hair's full of grease I look at the pictures and they ain't of me Cuz now my eyes are always bloodshot And they're carryin' black bags Oh, my looks ain't what they used to be And man, if it ain't a drag I used to sing for a rock n' roll band I figured I'd go and try my hand Hittin' the highest notes I could Every time we got to play I'd throw down my microphone stand And jump around on stage But now my throat don't have any melody And my singin's gotten weak My face is pale in the lights My words come out in coughs My voice ain't what it used to be And my timin's always off I used to be such an honest young man Didn't steal from nobody's hand Didn't ever look for sex Never tried to smoke any grass Never tagged with a spray paint can And my record was clear as glass But now I get high so freely And I act so mischievously Committed misdeeds in plain daylight Until the cops pinched me one time And my morals aint' what they used to be I'm obsessed with petty crimes |
