As a lifelong film buff, I'm a Netflix enthusiast - for about a year I've had an entry-level membership (under $10/mo): which gives me access to unlimited DVDs per month (one at a time) and unlimited downloads to my PC OR the incredible new "download to my TV" option.
It's still hard for me to believe, but I've got a queue of 40+ American and foreign film and TV classics - BBC series, everything from Casablanca to 7 Years in Tibet waiting for me to watch - anytime I want to - on my bigscreen HDTV. All through the magic of a still little known $99 set top box made by Roku and sold at http://www.roku.com/netflixplayer/
You can order the Roku box on line. It's about the size of a club sandwich, it's a snap to install, comes with it's own remote, and has great help desk support for anyone needing help with installation or operation.
There are 12,000 Netflix videos available for instant download (it takes about 20 seconds each). You use your PC connection to the Netflix web site to build your download queue, and use the Roku controls on your TV screen to pick what you want to watch, when you want to watch it! It's great!
As the days get shorter, the nights get longer, and regularly scheduled TV programming gets harder and harder to watch, the Roku/Netflix package is a great source of entertainment.
If you're a film buff, check it out!
