I ordered from WorkingPerson.com and paid with a debit card. They said the money would not be removed from my account until the order was shipped, however the very next day they removed the money from my bank account. The web site said the boots were in stock & I received an e-mail acknowledging my order. After two weeks and no boots, I tried to use the online support. What a joke. There is no online support. It’s just a way to patronize the customer by making them think they’re actually holding for an operator. After 4 minutes of waiting with various excuse lines popping up every 60 seconds, I was thrown into an e-mail queue which goes to nobody because the only one that works there is the guy who takes your order. I sent numerous emails marked “urgent” and “critical” and got no reply. I finally reached a charming young salesman by phone on 8-27-08. He told me that my boots were out of stock but expected to be restocked on 8/28/08. They were to ship from Michigan on 9/2/08 with expected delivery on Thursday 9/4/08. I gave it until the following Monday (9-8-08) then tried to cancel my order. What a system they have! I swear they laid the phone on the chair and went to lunch. I camped on the “online assistant” page, waiting the four minutes, & filling out the e-mail form requesting order cancellation and release of our bank funds. I took screen shots and saved copies of everything I sent them. I heard nothing from them until I wrote that my next step would be to contact my attorney. Someone finally replied; but the reply was to my very first message regarding ship time. She said that the boots were backordered and they should be in at the end of the month. That would mean two months of being backordered. They could train a monkey to make boots in that amount of time! My guess is that they had knock-offs made in China and the boat is stuck in customs. I finally contacted my attorney and gave him copies of all my screen shots and e-mails with “ticket numbers”. I’m waiting to see if he can get more action than I’ve seen.
Update 9-29-08 I had received an apology e-mail from WPS with a promise that they would refund my account AND send me a free pair of boots. I waited to do an update until their promise was reality. The funds were returned to my account today. No boots yet.
