Le Tour De France~~Vive Le Tour~~Vive Le Lance !!

The Bottom Line It's all in the review..Vive Le Lance!
Though I dont ride a bike and never have learned to, I just can't believe the thrill I get when watching Lance Armstrong as he and all the other athletes make their way though the countryside of France. Over the high and mighty mountain ranges of the Pyrenees and the Alps, through the peaceful and charming small villages, each stage of the race is a thrill as the excitement pitch gets higher and higher when Lance wins or nearly wins stage after stage of this grueling race. You cant help but think, will he win again? Can he win the 7th race in a row? A feat never before accomplished by anyone! And this, his last race before he retires.
While I watched the race this morning, live, as they approached Paris my heart started to pound, the views breathtaking, as they circled the roundabouts, passing beautiful chateaux, racing though some tiny village streets, my heart raced even more as the excitement kept building.
These are magical, somewhat mystical feelings of awe and respect that grows in me for Lance. The fortitude and bravery of this man after winning his most important battle with cancer. To overcome all the debilitating effects of that dreaded disease and fight his way back to the finish line, to win again and again.
Each year as he leads the pack of all the other racers, each one a champion in his own right, the world of racing fans, whether a fan of his or not, American or not, can not deny his bravery, his determination, his skill.
Today,I, like all his fans and all America have one more reason to be proud. Though Im not one of those lucky people who have lined the roadsides throughout the route of the race these last 3 weeks or could not be on the sidelines of the Champs Elysee`s to cheer him on or wave my American flag, as racers circled around and round, passing the Place de la Concorde, the Rue de Rivoli, and the worlds most famous Arc, my heart still races. I feel a sense of pride and joy and want to say, Vive la Lance, youve found a way into my heart, filled me with wonder and made me proud to be an American while the American Anthem played and the Red White and Blue flew overhead with the Arc de Triomphe in the background
It was a thrill to behold........Thank you.
It will be strange watching the race next year without Lance, his determined face and broad smile wearing his yellow shirt but watch it will
This review has been a repost and updated..I wanted to write another essay about Lance, the inspiration he is and the incredible race the Tour de France is but this one says it all for me, Thanks so much for reading!:)
