The Bottom Line the bottom line is sneeking off to write another review.

I went right by this milestone. Didn’t think of it, to be honest. I am going to see if I make it a year, and celebrate it then. But I saw some fun in this W/O and thought I would give it a try.

Member Name and meaning behind it (if there is one

Boudica. I started back when the internet was a wire, a BBS and a telephone line. Everyone had a nick and we were all invisible and ruled the world from our 286s. Most of the really good handles were taken, and I decided to go with my love of history. Boudica seemed a natural choice. And it stuck. No, sorry, this is not my “magical” name or some such nonsense. We don’t give out our magical names to the general public, or else we have to kill you . 9-) I refer to it as my community name because, except for my husband, most people call me Boudica.

My very first review (with link and description)

Ya know, this linking stuff is a pain in the butt-erfly. My first review also sux bigtime compared to the reviews I'm writing now.

I wrote hit and run reviews up to the time I started here. You folks are to blame for me becoming an old windbag when it comes to writing reviews. I always wanted to write more in depth reviews, but that other review site wants it short and sweet. Do you know that the other site.UK doesn’t like my reviews anymore because they are too long? I have to prune them down quite a bit to post them there.

If you want my first review for EPI, you will have to go dig it up yerself. I re-read it and am embarrassed.

The 3 favorite reviews that I’ve written (with links)

Three? Damn... Sorry, other than the Sheetz, which I thought was fun, favorites? Nope, got no favorites. I love all my reviews equally. They are my children, even if they suck bigtime.

My most complete review

When I post my review, it is as complete as I’m gonna make it. Some of my earlier reviews are “short” but they are as complete as they will get. I have “re-written” some of my reviews to conform to EPI standards, but again, they were complete for that other site, just a bit more “savvy” here on the EPI site.

My most successful Write-Off (If I wrote one, include link)

Haven’t gone there yet. I have some background projects taking some of my time and besides, what kind of W/O could a witch do that everyone would enjoy. Sorry, not going there. 9-)

Favorite W/O I participated in (with link)

The “AtoZ” thing for Jaguardog was a challenge, but I had fun with the beauty thing as well.

My most lucrative review (with link and $$$ earned)

I got 55¢ for one of my more recent reviews.

Anyone who thinks pagan authors are rich and famous got another thought coming.

Things I like most about Epinions

I like the freedom of expression. Not just for my own reviews but the rest of the folks who write here. It’s nice to write reviews, but to be honest, this site allows the creative outlet for many folks here as well, and I enjoy reading them as well as inputting from time to time.

Things I dislike most about Epinions

Ya got a couple of trolls here. But, to be honest, there are trolls everywhere.

I like EPI overall. Quality reviews; an excellent idea. I see plenty of “this book rox” or “this book sux” on the other sites. Here there are very good personal experiences and well written reviews.

I have a few gripes. But, in my experience, whining about them doesn’t solve anything, and I am still too new here to give that a shot. And, like I said, I have other projects that take priority over trying to change the EPI world. Maybe some other time. Or, maybe some crusading soul will take on the system. I'm past that right about now.

Members I admire most on Epinions

Alexdg1, the incurable romantic – as I myself have been accused of not having a romantic bone in my body... Sigh! Sorry Alex, I tried to work out an entry into your W/O and to be honest, I could only come up with one movie that I find heartbreaking and that was Withering Heights, the old B&W version. My other favorite is Love Stinks. 9-)

drdevience – the woman has balls: big brass ones! I admire a woman with gutts.

One of the first people to actually write me about one of my reviews was Ed Grover. We have had a couple of emails back and forth, and he is a lovely soul. I salute you, Ed, for being a gentleman and a scholar.

These are a few “favorite reviewers” but for now, let’s leave well enough alone, simply because there is not enough room here to cover them all. Check my WOT, you will find all of them.

My ultimate goal at Epinions

When I first started reviewing, I had no real goals. I was doing an on line e-zine, and it was strictly for content. Someone suggested I post them to that "other site". I really don’t remember who it was. I climbed up to top 500, and that was beyond my own expectations.

Receiving top reviewer here was a real honor as well, but again, was not really looking for that. I was looking to expand the reader base for many books I considered well worth reading. I have a rapport with many of the authors and artists in my community, and they deserve recognition for what they do.

I do this because I love to write and I like to review.
