The Bottom Line Even though my sports days are over, it's fun to relive them.
1. What are your favorite sports to watch on television? Baseball for sure. I love watching baseball (even if Seattle sucks again this year) but I do enjoy major events like the Super Bowl as well. 2. How often do you watch sports on television? As long as I'm not working and it's in the evening, there is baseball on my tv if I can find one televised. 3. What are your favorite sports to watch live? Baseball again though I don't really attend sporting events. 4. How many live sporting events do you typically attend annually? I honestly haven't been to a live sports event in years. The last time I was at one was in jr. high I think. 5. What organized team sports have you ever participated in previously? I used to play a few sports as a kid including baseball and roller hockey. I wasn't any good at any of them but I enjoyed them. 6. What organized individual sports have you participated in previously? I used to play quite a bit of tennis. Again I wasn't very good but I enjoyed it. 7. What pick-up sports have you participated in previously? I'd play pick up games of anything really. Basketball (wasn't very good), hockey (wasn't very good), baseball (wasn't very good)... which probably explains why people stopped asking me to play. 8. What sports or outdoor activities do you currently participate in? I don't. My job is active enough and my knees can't take much more than that. 9. How often? well I work most nights a week. 10. Is there any sport that you wish you could participate in now? I wish that I hadn't given up on baseball. I could've been good if I hadn't let myself get discouraged. 11. What’s keeping you from doing it? Well my knees first off. Then I work nights which makes it hard to participate in anything in the area plus I'm really out of practice... then there's the whole bit about never once finding a team that I liked playing with. 12. If your fairy godmother was going to give you all the skill and a job in pro sports, what sport would you play? Baseball, in a heart beat. 13. What team and position (if relevant)? Oh I would love to be the starting shortstop or pitcher for the Seattle Mariners. Even if the team wasn't winning, I dreamed of being a starting player for Seattle growing up. 14. What beer would you promote as a sports celebrity? Ew, hate beer. 15. What brand would you promote? .... I don't understand this one. 16. Do you have any sports heroes? Who are they and why are they your heros? Interestingly enough, even though I've always preferred shortstop and pitcher. I've always liked Ichiro and Jay Buhner. I always liked how they push themselves beyond what should be normal human limits and go that extra mile to make the play but are human enough to not go for big contracts and money. They keep/kept playing for the love of the game. 17. If you could invent a new sport, no matter how absurd, what would it be? Sex as a competitive sport would be fun. Not sure how the scoring system would work though. Either that or I'd love to see Baseketball become a real sport.  |
