The Bottom Line This is the first time I am going to attempt to do something like this, so here goes.
1. What are your favorite sports to watch on television?
Hockey, Golf, Football pretty much anything but the NBA.
2. How often do you watch sports on television?
Everyday, I'll even watch ESPN Deportes if I get desperate.
3. What are your favorite sports to watch live?
Ice Hockey, golf
4. How many live sporting events do you typically attend annually?
I have season tickets to the Flyers and the Phantoms (minor league hockey team) and generally get sent to one or two PGA Tour events (I'm an assistant PGA Pro at a country club). So I would venture to say around 100 counting the hockey playoffs, maybe that's why I can't afford to fix my car.
5. What organized team sports have you ever participated in previously?
Played hockey from age 5 through my senior year in high school. Little League baseball and soccer.
6. What organized individual sports have you participated in previously?
Golf since I was 14
7. What pick-up sports have you participated in previously?
Lots of pick up hockey games and some wiffle ball games, does Beer Pong count?
8. What sports or outdoor activities do you currently participate in?
Golf
9. How often?
Uh, I work at a course, so I'm around golf every day but I only play like four times a week.
10. Is there any sport that you wish you could participate in now?
Wish I didn't shred my knee so I could still play hockey.
11. What’s keeping you from doing it?
7 knee surgeries before my 26th birthday.
12. If your fairy godmother was going to give you all the skill and a job in pro sports, what sport would you play?
I think I already have one, but I wish I could have taken my scholarship to play hockey.
13. What team and position (if relevant)?
If it was to be on the PGA Tour, I would love to play in the Ryder Cup. If hockey it would be right wing on the US Olympic team.
14. What beer would you promote as a sports celebrity? (OK, that was just to make certain Bruguru, Marty and Fuche participate)
All of them, just kidding I think it would have to be Yeungling.
15. What brand would you promote?
I'm on the Taylor Made Playing Staff, wish I got paid for it.
16. Do you have any sports heroes? Who are they and why are they your heroes?
Brett Hull: One of the few outspoken and honest hockey players. The NHL needs guys that speak their minds and aren't content to hide behind the same old cliches that most players seem to live by.
Arnold Palmer: He single handedly turned golf into a more mainstream sport. When he went to play in the British Open, most Americans had avoided it, he restored the greatest golf tournament to the place of prominence that it deserved.
Lance Armstrong: Not a fan of cycling, but that man is an inspiration to everyone, the ability to be at death's door and go on to win the most physically grueling sporting event in the world seven years in a row. Plus, I think he will stay retired and leave on top.
What kind of golf pro would I be if I didn't say Tiger Woods. Four straight majors, all those wins, the grace under pressure, and ability to elevate his game. I really understand how fickle the game of golf can be and Tiger has come as close to mastering it as I have seen.
17. If you could invent a new sport, no matter how absurd, what would it be?
I think my fraternity came up with a good one, the Beer Olympics. Some of the highlights include: the empty keg toss, the power funnel, the team case race, and finally the 40 oz. chug.
