I have combined my so-called “rant” with my shoutout list to create a disorganized 40th review for my first “milestone”. Hope you enjoy it, and drop a comment about your thoughts. Please don’t scroll down the article to see your name in bold; read about it and tell me what you think of it.

One of the best things about this site, as many have pointed out in the long run is that there are so many different reviewers with their own opinions and styles, happy to share them with the community. I appreciate so many of them in different ways so that looking back at their past and contemplating on their future is a very easy thing to do. My accomplishments don’t run too deep although I do believe I have a few proud moments and well-done reviews, such as my latest.

I am really hoping I am contributing to this site as a hip hop reviewer and writer, so please leave some feedback in the comments section about how you feel about me as a writer and if I’m not desecrating the hip hop empire on this site, haha. There are many other writers who I feel are building up the site in music after many people are retiring, either thanks to a lot of work to do or the fact that this section is slowly crescending in quality. Many have understandably quit, however leaving a mountain of reviews and respect behind them.

I’m not trying to only display self-pride here but I’m wondering if you think I have potential as a writer. And a word of advice for newbies and people with loads of potential themselves: Articles are well-respected on Eps, my "300 Bars" narrative got me nearly 450 visits as of yet (though only one cent.) Write a review not many have done before and keep an innovative style. As of 40 reviews, I have 25 people on my WOT, thanks to all for putting me there. And to those who have little to no reviews but participate well in rating and commenting; try to write more as well. Hip hop needs more representation.

Many albums have gotten praise and controversy over the last few years: Nas, Eminem, Jay-Z and what’s more Kanye West is seemingly next up. Late Registration seems to be neverendingly delayed yet that won’t stop the hype surrounding it. I’ve heard recently Nas is to be doing a guest spot on the album (and I’m pretty sure it’s not a rumor) so we’ll have to see what happens. Will this summer bring good releases; or the usual trash we find in our recycling bins come autumn?

Anyway, what’s to expect from Snik: An article examining the prospect of rap beefs and how it affects the culture, reviews on Cds by Common, Canibus, Kanye West and more come later this month, and the actual milestone which will be my 50th review. Thanks to all of you for supporting me.

Getting to the shouts (in alphabetical order):

Big D: Though I don’t know him as well as some on the site do, (and I don’t think he’ll see this) he has an undisturbed legacy on this site (435 reviews) that cannot be touched. He’s had his fair share of problems but his reviews and rhymes are awesome to read. One of the most interesting members on the site.

Carnage: A great shock rapper and a nice reviewer although he seems to never get the time to do one. Check out his entry into my MC W/O, his latest reviews, and his “Psycho Story” rhyme which won’t disappoint you.

Disco Infernal: A very entertaining reviewer who always has this hilarity, yet depth in his reviews. Definitely a cool guy to get to know, he has also done an entry in my MC W/O recently.

Headcase: A really nice guy to talk to and who has supported me; and he has written many a dope review, ranging from Canibus to KRS-One to Nas. His one-man write-off is packed with information for any ‘Bis lover; and I’m hoping I can at least do a respectable review for "2000 BC" once I get it in the mail. He also has some tight joints up at soundclick that I recommend you hear.

Jbrd: Though emceeing isn’t his forte (LOL, sorry) he’s been on here for a while, commenting on my stuff and getting loads better as a reviewer and he has a style of his own.

Madtheory: One of the most influential writers ever to surface on this site, a definite inspiration to everybody including myself and he paved the way for many other hip hop writers. I always read his work; and those CD’s which have gotten his stamp of approval are definitely ones to check out. He has written almost 500 reviews and has more than that on his Web Of Trust; the forefront of the Hip Hop writers on the site. Keep it up.

Mecca Abstrak: I cannot forget him. He has released reviews on a wide variety of subjects such as CDs, books & movies and he’s definitely a contender for a legendary hip hop writer on here and he’s made many a friend in the process. His lyrics are also very dope, and he’s been here even less time than I have been! Keep up the good work my friend. And if you haven’t, check one of the dopest lists on here in the history of Eps, the 56 Best Hip Hop Artists Of All Time. Even though you’re one of my best friends here, I feel as though I can’t say enough. Well, you hold many talents and don’t let that slip from you. Keep writing and I’ll always read, rate and comment. A legend in the making.

Mr. Fatkid: This guy definitely has potential to become a great reviewer, and amidst his style changing to fit himself the best he has some nice rhymes and a funny personality. Check him out if you haven’t yet, you won’t be disappointed. And leave some comments for him.

Nosoyloco: I first met him when he left a comment on my Moby review, and I have to say he is a very accomplished poet and reviewer. I’m looking forward to reading more from him.

Paulyoungotti: Unfortunately I haven’t seen a new review from him in a while, however his frequent rates of my reviews help matters and he is quite a great writer. 178’s a good number.

Poeticone: A very good reviewer with a very concise and broad style. I don’t know that much about him besides the fact that I read whatever he decides to put up and he does the same for me.

Russianraiderz: Two very cool people sharing an account; DL usually posts his lyrics every so often so check for those. ~M~ is more known around the site plus he has posted a share of nice reviews, ranging on everything from the top 10 beef songs to an article about Nas as the spawn of evil (you have to see it to believe it; though he proves it wrong.)

Shiffy: The AIM hater…who is probably the most known and respected person on this site who has written less than 10 reviews, lol. Keep it up man, I wanna read more!

Smarterthan3/Jimmy: Ever since he left that SH on my D12 review (which I will either be re-writing or deleting soon) we started to check each other’s reviews out to watch each other improve. As he puts it, my reviews are ‘getting better at a freakishly scary rate’ and he has put up many reviews and songs which are also great to read, as well as informative and intelligent. He has recently broken the 5000 total visits mark (*hooray!, applause*) while I have broken the 2500 mark. (*far less applause, with a coughing sound in the background.*) Definitely check out his reviews, and he’s a real nice guy who’s helped me out and always supported me.

Stairway2Drew: Revolutionizing pimp raps and creating hilarious interview segments, not a reviewer to miss out on although he seems to hardly ever write anymore. Write if you see this!

Swytchblade: Where shall I start? First off, when I began at the site he was like a mentor, in rhymes and in reviews and somebody I looked up to. We have uncanny similarities in certain things; and he’s definitely a nice guy to get to know and he’s always supported me in my reviews and rhymes. One of the best emcees out there who isn’t signed, and I cannot wait for his mixtape to drop. Another one of my best friends here, and honestly with him and many other’s knowledge of hip hop on this site, I never would have known any of these artists so thank you. Anything else to say? Oh yeah, he beat me in a battle.

Whisperscream: His reviews are so well-detailed it’s like he’s reaching into your head and telling you what to buy, or what not to buy. The only thing disturbing about this man is he has no toilet in his home; preferring to do what you use it for all over my reviews.

Zenmachado: An interesting man and a great poet which has his own flavors and expressions.

Thanks to everybody for including me in their shouts as well…
