Wiedenmayer Jersey Lager---A Taste of "Joisey's " Past Returns
by MiDoyle | Aug 09 '05
Wiedenmayer Jersey Lager is one for malt-fans more than for those seeking a hop kick. I will certainly drink it again.

John: Thanks for commenting. You may be thinking of the Jersey Shore Lager by Hunterdon Brewing which has had different contract brewers. It's also been referred to as Jersey Lager in the past as well, if my memory is correct. In any event, this one (Wiedenmayer's) is certainly worth trying if it gets a distribution deal somewhere down the line. Right now, it's only in NJ. cheer

Beerlover. Thanks for commenting. I certainly see the rewards of reviving older beers that ended before their time and Narragansett Lager is certainly one in that list. Hopefully the new offering will be true to its roots and not try to be "hipper than thou", as they have done with the new Rheingold, among others. cheers

I remember a Jersey Lager being brewed by the Lion in PA back in the late eighties. Nice to see the return of a native (again).

Cheers!
