Everything seemed great. Good phones, great prices, etc. I even checked and the phones are new, not refurbished or rejects like Verizon claimed when I talked to them about it.
I live in a suburb of Denver. My cell phone has a 303 area code while my wife's has a 720 prefix, both of which I wanted to port to my new phone and new carrier. Perfectly normal as the area codes overlap. My next door neighbor's land line has a 720 area code while mine is 303.
The day after placing my order with LetsTalk.com, they called to tell me that Verizon, my chosen carrier, wouldn't let me port my numbers because they were in different area codes. They'd let me port my 303 number, but they wouldn't let me port my wife's 720 number because it wasn't in my billing area.
So I called Verizon about this. (This is when they tried to convince me that LetsTalk.com carries sub-standard phones, which they don't.) Verizon had no problem with my multiple area codes and offered to port the numbers right then and get me the phones -- for $120 more each than what LetsTalk.com was charging for the same phones.
So I called LetsTalk.com and told them what I'd learned. In short, they only understand 303 and 720 to be for Denver, Colorado, not for any of the suburbs. According to their records, there is no area code for my suburb. In short, they were lying when they tried to blame Verizon and never were able to figure out that 720 and 303 are for the same geographic location.
I cancelled my order and went to Wirefly.com, who had no problem at all with my dual area code porting.
