Actually the new Value's do come with the digital I/O port. I'm not sure when they started too, but I know that about a year and a half ago they didn't. Now that it does, this card will serve probably 99% of the people just fine.

Good review but I think you should have discussed a little about the actual differences between these 'software packaged' Creative labs packages.
Only one thing really makes the SB Live Plat, MP3, Gamer, etc any different really. and that is the digital I/O port. The Value doesn't have it. I saw you touched on it a little bit with the plat though.
I, myself can't stand almost all prepackaged software that comes with hardware i buy, so i may be a little tough on the subject :) I refuse to buy these poorly advertised packages that call themselves 'MP3' when it's the exact same card (or the gamer and such)
