Big Brother 6 --- Transcripts, Nudity, Lies, Editing, Secrets, Chat, Twists, Challenges, Rules, Spoilers, Live-Feeds

Aug 20 '05 (Updated Sep 14 '05)

The Bottom Line Big Brother 6 has been full of twists and surprises, and here is a quick look at what has been going on inside the house.

What I have decided to do, is post an editorial about one of the television shows I watch, which I will fully admit, I have become addicted to. That show is Big Brother 6 which has become more exciting that I can remember any of the past 5 seasons being. Maybe it is because of what is going on inside the house, or maybe it is because I decided to go with the live feeds this year, at the recommendation of surrogate Sister. Trying to find something to keep my mind occupied, she recommended it. Of course I thought what everyone else thinks when they first hear of it, "do you not have a life." Well, to put it bluntly, I am leading a pretty sheltered life right now, and my escape are those things that I find fun to do. And I find it a TON of fun to keep up with what is going on inside the Big Brother 6 house.

For those who are unaware of what "Big Brother" is, it is a game show that CBS has been showing for 6 years now. It is always shown during the Summer, has 3 episodes per week, and depicts the lives of a certain number of people put into a singular house. In this instance, there were 14 houseguests put into this house. Each week there is a series of challenges that leads to one of them being evicted. At the end, when there are only 2 people left, there is a vote to determine who gets the cash prize between those two people. It can be very dramatic and there are a lot of social games that come into play here. Trust becomes a huge issue, and people never know where to turn for support from week to week.

Each Thursday, there is an HOH challenge (Head of Household) to determine who will be in charge of the house for that week. This person can't be voted out of the house, and gets a special room, with special treatment for that week. The most important aspect though, is that they get to nominate two of the other guests in the house for eviction. This means that one of those two people will be leaving the house. If you are not being put up for eviction you are technically safe for the time being. There is then a Veto Competition held later on in the week, with the winner getting the chance to veto one of the selections for nomination. The people who participate in this are the HOH, the 2 nominees, and each person gets to choose one teammate to help them out. The winner can then choose to take someone off the "block" or to leave it as is. If someone is taken off, the HOH then replaces that person with someone else from the house.

Upon the final nominations being made, the houseguests later in the week have to vote out one of those two people, with the HOH not getting to vote, nor the two people nominated getting to either. There is an eviction ceremony, and someone is sent packing. They then do the whole process over again for the following week. In between all of these competitions, there is a lot of conniving, convincing, strategizing and just about anything you can think of for the house guests to manipulate the nominations, and take control of who is being sent home. Of course the people being nominated don't want to go home, so they spend all of their time trying to figure out a way to become safe. It all becomes very exciting, and it is these interactions between all of the houseguests that makes the show so exciting.

There are also a couple of other things that go on in the house, and those are food competitions, and luxury competitions. For the food competitions, the houseguests are competing to win food for the house for the next week. If they end up failing at the competition, they much eat only peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for an entire week. Not a really great punishment, because you can get really tired of PB & J very fast. So, it becomes a battle to insure that they won't have to suffer through it for an entire week. For the luxury contests, the houseguests are sometimes given the chance to so something different and special inside of the house. For instance, on Big Brother 6 they all competed for the chance to go to a screening of the new movie Four Brothers starring Mark Wahlberg.

For the shows themselves, CBS airs them at 9pm on Tuesdays, 8pm on Thursdays, and 8pm on Saturdays. Each show is made to be exciting and gives quick summaries of what has been going on in the house. But, the houseguests have been in there for 24 hours per day, every day for that week. So the footage DOES end up being heavily edited, and at times, there appears to be a rather large slant applied to things when they finally hit our televisions. This is where the Live Feeds come into play, and the people who have them are able to see basically everything that has been going on inside the house. Every conversation, every interaction, and for sure every argument. The drama is more real for the people that see these feeds, and they are able to see more of what leads up to something, and more of what has caused something to take place in the house. I am one of those people that has been seeing everything.

List of evicted HouseGuests

Week 2: Ashlea
Week 3: Michael
Week 4: Eric
Week 5: Kaysar
Week 6: Sarah
Week 7: Kaysar (Thursday)
Week 7: Jennifer (Saturday)
Week 8: Rachel
Week 9: James (Thursday)
Week 9: Beau (Saturday)
Week 10:Howie
Week 11:April
Week 12:

As you can see, there was one person evicted twice, and that is because after week 5, America was allowed to vote someone back into the house from the 4 people who had already been sent home. Kaysar won America's vote with an impressive 82% of the total votes. Upon making it back into the house though, Jennifer turned on him, and he was voted right back out. Kaysar is a really stand up guy, and I would have liked to see him last a lot longer in the house.

This Season on CBS

For the first time, every houseguest will be entering the house and playing the game with a secret partner -- someone they know from the outside world. Friends, co-workers and significant others will play the Big Brother game as secret duos. The twist is that each secret team believes that they are the only pair in the house (pairings will be revealed to TV viewers during the first live broadcast on July 14). Each twosome knows that if they can keep their secret and end up being the last two people in the house, the winner will win $1,000,000, the biggest cash prize in Big Brother history, with the second place finisher winning $250,000. If a twosome does not make it to the final two, the winner will win $500,000.

How they win the money

When there are 9 people left in the house, everyone from that point who is eliminated goes into sequester, a separate house, where they still don't get to interact with the real world. They are there, because they become the jury, to decide which of the remaining to people in the original house will win first prize. This plays into the strategies of the house, because if you are someone evil, your reward is still placed in the hands of those people you are turning on up until that final day in the house. This is a cool way to do things, and keeps the final 7 eliminated people in the game so to speak.

Gossip / Secrets / Revelations

As I was saying, often things get edited on television, and you don't get to see everything that is going on in the house. With 168 hours of time in the week, and only 3 hours of show, there is a TON that doesn't make it on to the television. This gives the show the opportunity to slant things any way that they want to, and it comes down to each persons interpretation of the revelations as to whether they are editing it to someone's advantage or not. For instance, one of the controversial things for the houseguests was that Ivette had been making racist comments about Kaysar and his background, calling him a terrorist and such. That did not make it on to TV for obvious reasons, but it went to show what kind of character that Ivette really has.

In other instances, the television audience didn't get to see where Howie was being put down longggg before he blew up and went after April in "Hurricane Howie". There were a ton of things that weren't shown on television merely because they ran out of time to cover every aspect of the house interactions. But to be sure, there was a LOT of drama in the house of that past week, when Jennifer lied to Kaysar's face, broke her word, and after telling him he would be protected, she put him up and had him voted off. Her only claim was that if she hadn't done it first, he would have done it later on. Not really a strong argument, but they normally aren't when it comes to breaking your word. Also, there was an airplane sent over the house recently by a fan, with a banner, with a message to Jen and April but the houseguests were put on lockdown when the producers saw it coming. It said "J-Blo and ApShrill America wants your D.O.R. (departure on request).

This also has led up to a double elimination that has left a houseguest already evicted from the house, yet it still hasn't made it to TV viewing yet. The house is normally a couple of days ahead of what is taking place on TV, so the live feeds are often privy to knowledge before everyone else. BUT, this weekend, they turned off the feeds due to things going on inside the house. We were able to see about 45 seconds of feed, and there were a lot of changes, and this Summer of Secrets is going to lead up to a BIG bang on Saturday night the 20th, so if you are a fan of the show DO NOT miss this night.

Updated September 14th 1:14pm Pacific

Beau has won HOH, and has put up Howie and Rachel as is two nominations for Eviction. Power of Veto competition will be held Sunday morning.

In the POV competition, James has won it, and can now take off a nominee of his choice. *gulp* Game changing moment coming up right here!

James has decided NOT to use the Power of Veto, and that leaves Rachel and Howie as the two people that could be voted off. The buzz around the house currently, is that Rachel will be the one who gets evicted on Thursday.

Aug 28: Jan and Howie were put up for eviction, and it should get pretty interesting who gets voted out.

There was also an America's Choice that has taken place, where Janie got a phone call from Michael in the house.

Aug 29: April has won the power of veto, and taken Jan off the block, replacing her with James

Sep 2: After winning HOH Howie had to nominate right away, and put up Beau and Ivette. The house will have a veto, and elimination all tonight (Friday the 2nd), and I will update as soon as I have info.

Sep 4: Beau was sent home, and Ivette won the new HOH. Ivette put up Howie and Janelle, but then Janelle won the POV competition, and will surely take herself off.

Sep 10: Janelle won the HOH, and ended up also winning America's Choice, to get to go to the set of 2 1/2 men yesterday. She has nominated Maggie and Ivette for Iviction now, and the POV competition will be held in a matter of hours.

Sep 14: With April sent home by the vote of Ivette, HOH competition for the final 3 started up. In the first competition, invloving endurance, Ivette won after more than 4 hours in it. As a result she also won a set of motor scooters.

Expect this editorial to be updated frequently, and I will provide various amounts of information of what is taking place inside the house. ALSO Everyone post what they think about the house and who they want to win in the comments!

(P.S. I know who goes home tonight on TV if anyone wants to know ahead of time ;)
