Hi Sunni,
Glad to hear all is well. For so many tonight that is not the case, and I have been watching the tragedy unfold from the distance the TV provides all week.

Best regards,
John

We were extremely lucky here, Howard. It's going to take a long time to clean this mess up though.

last night and I can't even imagine what those folks must be going through. Heavy rains expected here today but nothing as bad as out there. Glad you're ok.

Hi Sunni,

They had video of that story on the news today. Due to a malfunction it did not pop up and I'm so glad. I don't want to watch that, it's too much right now. There are still a lot of people stranded on rooftops waiting to be rescued. They were able to save a 5 year old boy this morning from a rooftop, no parents around. It's all so devastating.

I've heard from Robb who evacuated to Baton Rouge. His family is safe but they have no idea what their home will look like when he returns.

we still have a lot of damage and flooding down here in south Fla...I was without power for 4 days and no phone until yesterday. We lost some really big trees but they didn't fall on the house or our cars like during Andrew so I feel fortunate but my heart aches for those that were devastated..

Take care

Yes, lots of destruction all around. We have two parishes on the nothshore that is totally without communications. We are waiting to hear from my mother's family in one parish there and my Dad's family is in the other parish.

A lot of the schools here have been turned into shelters. Waiting to see if they will move to another location to re-open school here.

Hospitals are all at max capacity. Doctors and nurses who evacuated here are all volunteering time.

Of course, some folks weren't so lucky with Katrina. Thanks for sharing!
