Cindy Sheehan-An Open Letter To

The Bottom Line Cindy Sheehan's protest is an embarrassment to her son's memory. If she were my mother I would be ashamed of her.

Dear Cindy,
You don’t mind me calling you Cindy do you? Since you assume to be on a first name basis with George Bush due to his letter, I’ll assume to be on a first name basis with you as well because of yours.

Cindy, it has been seventeen months since your son Casey, a grown man, an American soldier, a person doing what he chose to do freely, was killed in action against an armed resistance with but one purpose in mind, the total destruction of America. There was no murder involved.

Was your son Casey proud to be an American soldier? Were you proud of your son’s service to his country? I’ll bet the answer to both of these questions is yes. But, let me ask you this Cindy. Would Casey be proud of the way his mother has been behaving since his untimely death? I think the answer to this question is an absolute “No”. It is my belief that he would be embarrassed beyond words at the way you have reacted to his death. Your position only endangers the lives of the men and women that he considered his closest friends.

While you attempt to demonize the President of the United States for “murdering” your son, you offer aid and comfort to the very enemy that killed your son. I am sure that Abu Musab Al Zaquari has a pith helmet and anti-aircraft gun and crew waiting in Iraq for your arrival.

Do you know what hard work is Cindy?

Hard work is being the President of the United States.
Hard work is defeating terrorism abroad before fighting it in our homeland.
Hard work is standing up on principle while others won’t.

But do you know what the hardest work of all is Cindy? Getting over the death of a child.

Casey in your own words was a “man who had high moral values and true courage”.

One definition of courage is, "The state or quality of mind or spirit that enables one to face danger, fear, or vicissitudes with self-possession, confidence, and resolution; bravery."

Your son died doing something that he believed in and your actions have taken away from that.

If you were my mother I would be ashamed of you!
