I am really sorry about Ed. I had been away from epinions for a spell and when I came back I still didn't know about Ed until happening upon your review here.

Thanks for sharing this tribute to him. While other people (who are no longer on epinions) helped me in the beginning on epinions, I know Ed was to you as they were to me.

May you all be blessed by the wonderful memories he left behind.

I'm looking forward to reading each and every tribute to Ed.

My best and God Bless,
Carol

Our paths have crossed before. Nice to read you again. Good topic, good advice. My father-in-law ultimately died from the disease. My husband overcame the struggle and even my son had his younger teenage moments with alcohol abuse. The 12-step program has helped a lot of people with addictions. I'm glad they helped Ed and I'm glad your dad left his darker days behind.

thanks so much for highlighting my struggles with alcoholism. I wrote these pieces to try and help others who are fighting the good fight against this disease. Now, through your help, they have come to life again. This is just one example of why I want my profile page and my essays and reviews to stay up there and be available for everyone to read.

Thanks, too, for your sincere and valued friendship and the many kind comments you left for me on subjects that weren't exactly prime reading for you.

My fondest regards always,

Ed

of what a person and overcome, with his sincerity and forthrightness about his life, trials and trimuphs..He has always been the kindest gentleman to me in his comments to me about interests we have had in common and the e-mail I received from him recently just reinforced the respect I feel for him....

I'd love to particpate in this write/off but I don't know how to find the words to express how much I care about him..

Great job here Phil, I know Ed will truly appreciate it

To you for wirting this and to Ed Congratulations for 20 years. This is a tough subject for me as well as I am dealing with this with someone close and it is very difficult to say the least. Especially he won't admit it and just can't face it.

is a VERY kind man. He was very helpful when I was a member in the past (as ginahill) and I recently read about his cancer and emailed him. He was, again, kind enough to reply and remember that we had exchanged plants in the past - I sent him some flower bulbs and he sent me some seed - the flowers of these have bloomed every year since... Thanks for providing more insight on this kind man... Gina
