When I first started riding early 2007 I got tired of borrowing oversized helemts (which is dangerous too!) and decided to take the plunge in my own gear, not fully recognizing the level of addiction riding was about to have in my life.
As a very "girly girl" I immediatly started looking for anything and everything pink. I quickly found the
Icon Mainframe Hooligan Helmet in blush and fell in love. The first thing I noticed was the bright white helmet (which is great for visablity) with pink "flames", It is a tad heavier than some other helmets, weighing in at a tad under 3 pounds for the small, and it has a bigger shell giving that huge head look, but it was very comfortable.
Inside, it has removable plush cheekpads that are easy to clean and re-attach. It has mulitple vents, one "ram air vent" on the forehead that can be easily opened and closed, another on the chin which again is easily opened and closed while riding It comes with a clear visor but you can order tinted and mirrored visors which change out fairly quickly and easily with their no tools
quick change visor system. It isnt
quite as easy as they lead you to believe, but it wasn't that hard either. Safety wise, it is both
Snell and
DOT approved.
While riding, they are fairly quiet. Definitley exceeds my expectations for the price range they are in. Not super quiet and light like you would expect out of a
Shoei or
Arai but they are far superior than the
HJC and
KBC helmets I tried out in their price range in noise and comfort levels. I have had little to no issues with whistling or fogging up and there is pretty decent airflow while riding (but very little while sitting at a light in 100 degree weather! lol)
These helmets come in several color choices. Blush (pink), Red, Green, Yellow, Black, Chrome, etc...
This helmet model is actually recently discontinued to make way for their newer
Airframe helmets and the gorgeous
Bombshell GoGo helmets so you can grab these up and amazing prices (I've seen around $120 on several sites)
