SHIT! (Reply to this comment)
by Fez_Monkey
Being out of touch with things here, it is only now that I hear that Ed is ill.
That blows. I always appreciate him, and look forward to hs comments. Getting the thumbs up from Ed is a sure sign that I am doing something right: both in terms of how I wrote it, and in pissing off the damned SAHM biches.
This sucks.

PS, your wine thingie was nice too.

Re: Epinionators Revolted??? (Reply to this comment)
by prfstars
Hi Marcy,
Re: the Sloppy Joe's, I usually pass salsa through a foodmill to get it smooth, and then simmer browned ground beef in the salsa until it thickens to Sloppy Joe consistency. This gives it a fresh, Mexican flavor that I like better than the canned stuff or envelope seasoning packs.
People delete their reviews for different reasons, but for a lot of us, we resented the site's plan to take away control of our reviews. If Epinions planned to remove editorial control of our reviews again, I'd delete mine in a heartbeat...

Epinionators Revolted??? (Reply to this comment)
by craftswoman
I had no idea epinionators became Animal Farm. Bully for you guys. Wish I was here then. I'm trying to understand why people deleted their reviews. That's like being dumped by your boyfriend and then cutting your hair and it turns out like cr*p. (which I've done many times.) I don't recommend it.
Folks, don't delete your reviews. Write a scathing, ranting review of whatever is p*ssing you off but don't delete your reviews. I'm glad to see that someone here had second thoughts and didn't delete them. It's bothersome that people deleted their reviews in anger it seems. Maybe it's best that I WASN'T here then.
Well, as they say in Italy, "Chin, chin. Buon appetito!" What kind of Sloppy Joe did you have? I used to make them. Was it the Manwich brand? I could see how the wine you described would go with a sloppy joe. And a beautiful description it was! I can almost smell the fragrance! Lovely work.

Grannie, Jo, Stephen, Barbara, Peter, and Nancy-- thank you all for your kind comments.
Ed, thank you for the recommendation. King & King is on its way from Amazon! The semillon was pretty good, and a nice accompaniment to your fragrance reviews. You know, it's a fantasy of mine to walk into a Hermes store and leave with a Birkin wrapped in that Hermes tissue paper and shopping bag. I loved your description of the way people looked at your shopping bag as you walked around NY.
I hope you're feeling well and have lots of friends fawning over you.

and heartfelt. I am swallowing a lump in my throat, for it mirrors the feelings so many of us have for Ed Grover.

Ed, if you are reading this or someone is reading it to you, you know my thoughts and prayers are with you as well. I do believe I've read every review of yours though I didn't realize you had deleted some during those lack of edit days which I too participated in. You are one of those one of a kind people. jo

If there's anything I miss from my drinking days . . . (Reply to this comment)
by ed_grover
it's a good glass of wine shared with a friend. Melissa, thanks so much for your friendship and your comments since we found each other. Thanks for participating in that write-off and thanks for participating in this one. These tributes mean more to me than anyone can imagine.
Enjoy that Semillon . . . you could drink it while you read King & King another children's book I reviewed a while back.
