The Bottom Line A poem I wrote for a friend of mine. It's rough around the edges.
Depart from me, leave this bitter world behind. The coldness surrounds your body as you fight for the right to live. Depart from me, your broken body is of no use. You hobble when you walk, and your frame is a shell of a carving that once held your youthful body. I command you to leave, depart from me. Leave my broken heart behind, fly in the sky, swim in the waters, walk with your feet. My tears are temporal your soul is eternal. I'll understand, I know. My eyes may not show it but my heart speaks the truth: Depart from me, you will be whole again. We will meet in a garden when our 2 souls are reunited as 2 immortal beings once again. |
