Kid, It's a good thing that you're into the beatles. Your choices of the BEST 20 songs is way off base. I know where I was 2/9/63. To be a beatles fan you must have 5 essential albums (rubber soul, revolver, Sgt. pepper, the white album and abbey road. If your top 20 isn't from these, then there is something wrong. Besides the fact that you can't pick a top 20 for this band. Stop the boy band crap(that's not what they were). If your short list doesn't include: The Word, I'm A loser and 18 more that I would have one hell of a hard time trying to come up with, then a top 20 is crazy. I guess you had to have been there. With much respect,

Actually, "With A little help from my friends" isn't a G. Harrison song. Lennon/McCartney penned it and Paul and Ringo sang it as a duet.

But, otherwise...good list.

This is a great list. I've tried to put together a favorite Beatles song list myself but came to the conclusion that I like just about everything they put out.

blackbird, dear prudence, i'll follow the sun (although may be seemed as 'poppy' its still paul on top of his game. i've just seen a face, norwegian wood, she said, she said (the best non-hit from the group), lets see, you didnt include something (george at his best), tomorrow never knows (possibly the most unappreciated effort), two of us, we can work it out (one of my faves). but its much too hard to narrow down the best group off all time hits into one narrow list. almost impossible.

The list of songs you came up with is fantastic because it covers their different styles of music The Beatles created, a trait most bands lack nowadays. If there is one song I would add to this list even better would be, “Please Mister Postman.”

Interesting list! I definitely wouldn't have done it the same (I can't think of really any songs pre-Help! that I would put in my top 20), but it's always interesting to see different views out there!

She Loves You... (Reply to this comment)

Great List, not all my faves, but good songs nevertheless.

In Britain, She Loves You was the first sign something weird was happening. It went to #1 on the charts, stayed for a while, then dropped to #3. Then it stayed there for month after month after month. Eventually, I Wanna Hold Your Hand came out and went to #1, while She Loves You was still at #3. As IWHYH eventually dropped down the charts, She Loves You went back up to #1 about six months after its first trip to the top. Amazing!

for me to come up with a list of 20 best. I am a Beatles fan, and can't think of any Beatles songs that I do not like. Your list is great!!

MAKE it a great day!

There's some overlap between your list and mine. The great thing about the Beatles is that there's so much to choose from! I'm another young fan, and I think they're just as pertinent today as 40 years ago. Nice job!

I think the Beatles are a great bad, too, but...

1. Eight Days A Week was a #1 single in 1965.

2. With A Little Help From My Friends was written by Lennon-McCartney, not Harrison

3. Yesterday is not on Magical Mystery Tour. It's on the CD release of Help.

I hope this helps. Still, thanks for sharing!

Sincerely, Pat
