You can't lose weight to please others. Lose weight for your health, peace of mind, self-confidence-yes, yourself.

A Size 6? (Reply to this comment)

I think I was bigger than a six when I was born!
Very interesting, Ms. Skinny! So glad that your injury is improving!

My best,

Gina, I really don't know what Pilates is. Don't you have to buy a lot of equipment and such?

This was an informal write-off initiated by romasuave. I'll edit that it. Thanks for pointing it out. Please feel free to jump in. The more the merrier.

As far as my successes, thanks. But, it has been a lifelong struggle from teen to now. Just doesn't come easy, and unfortunately I love the foods that are bad for me, as many do.

I like being short because it gives me a wide variety, height-wise of men to date, but wish I had more room to spread out the calories. . .

I literally do 1 - 3 classes about 5 times a week and/or work out on the gym floor but it's a tough road especially after 50. I saw a change at 44. Literally I remember the day I said to myself that it was the first time I had gained weight and was not able to get it off easily and quickly as usual. Thanks for sharing - take care of that finger! jo

Whose write-off is this? (Reply to this comment)
by Penguinlady
Your title suggests that it's a w/o, but there's no mention of the host. Is it yours?

I agree with you in principle, but have had a hard time of it in practice. Right now, I'm at least 30 lbs. overweight, having lost and gained that same 30 lbs. at least eight times in the past 25 years. I have yet to figure out a continuing regime that will work for me forever. Cutting carbs way back was very effective two years ago, but I felt so deprived that I couldn't keep it up. So I'm still struggling with it. And Penguinman doesn't like pets!

Mazeltov on your sensible approach and successes -

but Pilates helped my tummy - it's especially great for that area. You sound like me, though... Whatever your weight or size - so long as you FEEL good about it, you're fine. Thanks for the great review. I've missed reading you - Gina

PS: Would consider another "Lacy" but I already have four, plue one I'm caring for for a friend, living with me:) I LOVE Animals... and dogs are my favorite. THEY are always Helpful in my opinion

Sage advice... (Reply to this comment)
by drive571
As you noted, the message that isn't relayed nearly enough is to be concerned with one's weight for the sake of one's own health, not the opinions of others. There are consequences beyond the cute next-door neighbor that are far more worthy motivators.

In full agreement with the comment below, too. Very wise.
