No introduction is needed for these bands: 15) Red Hot Chili Peppers The Red Hot Chili Peppers are a mix of rock and funk. This may turn some people off but will turn even more on to this band. With great hits such as Scar Tissue, Under the Bridge, and By the Way, this band ranks in as my number 15 band. This doesn't mean they are bad though. 14) CKY CKY first gained popularity through MTV's Jackass/CKY tapes. They are often used in Bam Margera's skate videos, but this band has some talent and is slowly breaking away from Bam with their own identity. The hits they've produced includes 96 Quite Bitter Beings, Escape From Hellview, and Flesh Into Gear. 13) Pink Floyd I first got hooked on Pink Floyd through "The Wall." It was such a great concept album with extraordinary music to back it up. Pink Floyd have to be one of the best bands to ever play. Check out all three Another brick in the Walls and Money. You won't be disappionted with this band, trust me. 12) Atreyu Atreyu is a hardcore/metal band with one of my favorite guitar players. I find this is the main highlight of the band. Thier album "Suicide Notes and Butterfly Kisses" gained them lots of popularity. Download or buy that album and you'll like this band too. 11) Alkaline Trio Alkaline Trio are a punk/emo (I HATE EMO KIDS) band but I think of them as just a punk band. They are a three peice band from Chicago who you may have heard on the radio before. They are like a grown up, less sold out version of Green Day. My favorites include Goodbye Forever, Armagedon, and Another Innocent Girl. 10) Anti-Flag Anti-Flag comes out of a Millvale, PA and is a political punk band. The lyrics are worth checking out if you get a chance. If you know punk at all you should know who Anti-Flag is. My favorites include Rank N File, Spaz's House Destruction Party, Turncoat. 9) Misfits The Misfits are a punk band and a majority of thier songs are based on cheesy horror movies. I love horror movies and these guys are amazing too me. Thier vocalist changed but he is still good. Glenn was better in my opinion. Check out Anything from the Earth A.D. album. 8) Led Zeppelin Come on, Led Zeppelin have some talent. They pretty much created rock and a majority of what we listen to now. If you don't know them where have you been? Jimmy Page is a guitar GOD. Check out Trampled Underfoot ( my favorite by them), Black Dog, and Kashmir. 7) Sunny Day Real Estate I hate it when people call this band Emo. They are just a mellow punk band. The lyrics are why I really like them. They will make you think (check out my review on them). Anything off the "Diary" and the "Self Titles" (Pink Album) is great. After that they're good but not great. 6) Metallica Forget St. Anger and listen to anything else by this band. They are amazing and Kirk Hammet plays the hell out of his guitar. Hetfeild is awesome at vocals and Urlich a decent drummer but a D!ck outside the band. Check out "Ride The Lightning" and "Self Titled" (Black Album). 5) The Doors Jim Morrison is the man. He writes great songs and created some of the best rock music of all time. Again, if you have never heard them listen to them now. This is classic rock at its best. My favorites include Riders on the Storm (not the Snoop Dogg cover), People Are Strange, and Break on Through. 4) Primus Primus have the best bass player in the history of music, end of story. This guy is incredible and shows off A LOT. The vocals will turn some off but thier songs often have real deep hidden meanings. My favorites include DMV, Jerry was a Racecar Driver, Laquer Head, and Tommy the Cat. 3) Nine Inch Nails Easily the best industrial rock band ever. Trent Reznor is the only official member of the band really but he is so talented. If you are easily offended then don't listen to this band. My favorites are really everything off of Broken and Downward Spiral. They are two amazing albums that you should buy right now. 2) Tool Tool is an prog rock/rock band who have incredibly deep lyrics. I doubt you will find a band who can write better lyrics than Maynard James Kennan. If your offended easily then don't listen to this band. Take this band with a grain of salt as well. They are a relaxing band to listen I think. My favorites are 46 and 2, Sober, and Lateralus. 1) Nirvana Nirvana is the greatest band of all time according to me. Kurt Cobain's voice is perfect for grunge and he is my favorite guitar player of all time. I own a lot of Nirvana albums and my favorite is In Utero. Nirvana is grunge at its best. My favorite songs from them are Smells Like Teen Spirit, Heart Shaped Box (My favorite song), Floyd the Barber, Lithium, and R@pe Me. I could listen to this band 24/7. Also check out Modest Mouse who just missed my list. The make some great music and are a very underated band. Check out The Lonesome Crowded West and The Moon and Antarctica.
