I had been watching The Beatles Anthology, going down memory lane and remembering all the wonderfulness of the fab four and just how great that time was in England growing up!
Now I am grown up and still hold on to those days with joy when I hear a favourite song of theirs.
I wanted to e-mail all my friends with this sentiment of The Beatles...the love that you take is equal to the love you make and I found your wonderful tribute to some of their songs.
I love that there are many people in this world share the same sentiments as I do.
Take care, and happy new year.
Peace, kindness and love.

A wonderful list (as well as piece of writing). Not only did you cover what i'd consider the absolute essentials ("Day in the Life", "Strawberry Fields", "Walrus", "Eleanor Rigby"), but you have the excellent sense to appreciate them as both some of the greatest melodists ever _and_ as a silly bunch of doofuses.

I suspect a whole lot of unlikely people were listening to the Beatles at camp; your list keeps reminding me that their songs have proved utterly transmutable, be it as Earth Wind Fire covers, mashups with Jay-Z vocals, or Beatallica singing "Got to Get You Trapped under Ice" and "Everybody's Got a Ticket to Ride Except Me and My Lightning". A happy thing, for everyone involved; and to think we still get to hear the originals too.

cheers,
- Brian

I agree with you on a lot of your selections, and there are a couple songs that I really need to check out. Really knowledgeable and personal. Nice job.
