Pros: Upbeat, funny, and serious movie.
Cons: The movie is a bit raw for younger viewers.
The Bottom Line: I would recommend this story to all intereted in watching a life unfold before your eyes. Truly a great emotional roller coaster

Edited the title just in case there are some minors viewing this review. This radio call was a call to wake up and take a look at my life. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this film. Granted the language is a little raw and gritty but the story is good. I definitely enjoyed the journey through the highs and lows of a Washington DJ Ralph "Petey" Greene. Once again Don Cheadle has given a quality performance. If you are a Don Cheadle fan you will not be disappointed. I would definitely add to the personal collection. Powerful and interesting insight to the struggles of a dj during a tumultuous time of the 60's civil rights movement. Don Cheadle shines in this movie. Great story and character study. The emotional roller coaster is a joy to ride. It is definitely a great movie for adults to watch.
Supporting cast (Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mike Epps, Cedric the Entertainer, Taraji P. Henson, Martin Sheen) gave quality performances that only stand to add to make the movie very entertaining. It was definitely a surprise to Cedric the Entertainer in a more serious role. It was refreshing to see his acting skills to improve. Although the role was small but he seems to give a good performance.
Taraji also gave a powerful performance as Peteys balance. She was able to show the struggles of loving a person such as Petey. She has been the master at being the struggling girlfriend (Baby boy and Hustle and Flow)
