Alex, you are so funny! Just last night I was able to log on to do some reading and rating. Along with everything else, my 5 year old has been diagnosed with JRA (Arthritis). She has been going to lots of different doctors and specialists and getting lots of blood work done, poor little thing. I guess you could say I'm hiding out at the hospitals and doctor's offices, LOL.

Now, we KNOW how much Al Bundy loved his Dodge, don't we!

I have great news. Fifi is doing much better. She is down to only 3 meds once a day. I don't have to give her Sub Q fluids anymore (that's with an IV needle in her scruff twice a day because she wouldn't drink), and I don't have to force feed her anymore. Yes, she is eating and drinking on her own again. She has gained weight (this is a good thing). She is acting happy, and purrs and rolls on her back to have her tummy rubbed. Her liver numbers are way down, but not low enough. She may need some other treatment for that. But for right now, she is doing so well. Her upper respitory infection is finally gone and she can breathe again. I have a wonderful vet!

I want to thank you all so much for commenting. Fifi is still struggling and I am so exhausted from the ups and downs (she's ok..no, wait... she's NOT ok). Every day keeps bringing something more, every test comes back in a negative light.

They took her blood pressure yesterday, and normal is from 160-180 with 200 being acceptable to account for stress in the vets office. Fifi's was literally off the charts at over 300. The test only had lines going up to 300, and she was well over that. The vet looked at me, and stated I needed to get her on High Blood Pressure meds RIGHT NOW! Now she's on 5 medications that I have to give her everyday, two of them twice a day.

She still refuses to eat or drink. I'm barely keeping her alive.

Tonight, she's hardly breathing, as she is utterly congested. She is so pug, she has such a little nose that when it gets congested, there's not much breathing that can take place. I have a humidifier going for her to help her breather easier...I am so worried and emotionally tired.

Prayers are always welcome.

I rarely pop my head in Epinions any more, but happened to run across your poem. I can't just read this and not leave a comment. Really don't know what to say other than "I'm so sorry," and you and Fifi are in my prayers. She's a beautiful kitty, Sherri. My heart goes out to you.

I feel for you. We have been frantic because our not yet 2 year old Pomeranian has been sick. She's so little it is even scarier. We've lost dogs at 16 and 14. No one knows what it is like until it happens. I am so sorry for you. jo
