Saranac Pumpkin Ale---Solid Introduction to the Flavor of Fall
by MiDoyle | Sep 20 '05
Saranac Pumpkin Ale is a solid offering, not overpowering, with some real pumpkin pie flavor to it, as opposed to others that only mimic the spiciness of the experience.

John:

It's still around so I suspect it will be available through Thanksgiving perhaps. You can add it if you wish, but then I'd have to delete and repost which is a bugger. Whatever. cheers

Hoping to see some of this myself. I did read it was very limited, though. I can easily add it to the database, but I haven't been able to find an image. Drop me a line if you'd like it added.

Cheers!

Mike: Thanks for commenting. Smuttynose is out and I'll pick up some of that as that remains a favorite of mine as well. Dogfish Head has a pumpkin ale 4-pack this year too which I intend to try, though it's pricey ($8.99). The others you mention aren't available near me but you never know. cheers

Søren:: It might help if you just think of it as an alcohol delivery system. Thanks for commenting, cheers

Haven't seen Saranac's version pop up in stores yet, but at their price point, it's not a huge risk to buy. Smuttynose is my solid bottled favorite. And several brewpubs here in New England do a nice job with their Pumpkin beer creations - Cambridge Brewing and Watch City Brewing being two of them. Thanks for the review.

Cheers!
