Nowadays it's hard to find a good state-of-the-art TV for a decent price. Although 850 dollars isn't exactly cheap, the money is well worth the investment in this case.
The picture on this is absolutely great. The best way I can describe is almost like watching a moving photo. Not quite as good as the new plasma screens, but very VERY high quality.
The sound is good at low levels. But if its at a point where you want it sounding good at higher levels, better kick on the home stereo. The speakers are to small to accommodate this size television.
There are a couple other drawbacks to this one. I thought it took excessively long to warm up, and the picture wont show until its good and ready. Normally that's not a big deal, but if you're turning it on to see the latest news break there's a good chance you'll miss out.
Also, the TV 'hums' after its been left on excessively. After a few hours you can hear it pretty clearly.
Overall, this television is a great buy, and keeps with the quality standards of the Sony Corp.
