...was a truly terrifying movie when I was a kid. It still gives chills to this day. I remember after seeing it on one late night show, that image remained with me. So why did I make a point of purchasing the issue of FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND that had that picture on the cover? LOL

Alkl these films were worthy of honorable mention but Mr. Sardonicus (1961) takes the cake. Oldie but goodie.

this was the scariest film I remember...I was 10 when I first saw it...I lay in bed in a clammy sweat until morning. I love seeing it over and over again. To some it is actually funny.

I saw this in the theater - after having already read the book - and it scared the daylights out of me! I think it might be King's purest "scare" film.
That cat still freaks me out......

I still find parts of that movie chilling, including the parts surrounding the girl being "lost" in the TV :)

Yeah it has become more comedic over the years, but it was quite scary to me when it first hit theaters, so it has memories for me attached to it :)
