The original Friday The 13th was not based on Jason and/or the man in a hockey mask. As a matter of fact it was a pretty good story. For the purpose of fact Jason "the killer" was introduced in the 2nd film and it wasn't until the third movie that they accessorized him with the NHL goalie look. The first movie was based on a psychotic angry mother who blamed the teenage camp counselors for the death/drowning of her young boy/son "Jason" I felt it was believable, scary, but most importantly entertaining. Yes I agree it was low budget, and the rest of the series got dumber by each release.

I just saw Sleepy Hollow again, and had forgotten just how bloody & violent it was. Great list. Sheila

Horror is the best genre for movies. We love being scared once in a while. Even for those don't want to be scared, deep down they want to be scared! Great list here
